Hi

Can anyone please confirm the largest rim diameter the A9X or L34 came out with?

I’m not a hundred precent sure but i think the rears were a 6 inch rim?

Thanks

Thanks for that.

Reason why i asked is because i want to get some wheels engineered and the biggest they allow me is 2inch higher than standards.

So i can only fit 8 inch on the rear. I was hoping i can go 9 or 10 inch rim. AHH

It is my understanding that under the NSW regs if you fit the right diff (one that run 8" rims ) you can get wider wheels.

From this thread

i have 4 mates cars engineered with a 9" diff and 10" rims. all are under/over track (which i was told doesnt apply if he approves it)

mine is done by:

http://www.consulmotive.com.au/

mates cars were done by 2 other different engineers.pm me if you want there contact details.

you shouldnt have to 'prove' to the engineer anything. thats what he's there for.you pay him money so you dont have to chase this stuff up yourself.

When did they engineer there cars? Because there are new nsw regs that came out in December.

Been speaking to Gary from I S Motor racing and thats what he has told me.

This is the RTA link regarding tyre size and the info is on page 3.

http://www.rta.nsw.g.../vsi09_rev4.pdf

My car weighs 1300Kg so i am eligible to go 2 inches.

Also he said he will need to take my car on a track to test the brakes. He needs to do a hot and cold test which is going to cost $750 extra just so he can test the brakes?

Sounds like you need to find a different engineer.

Looks like the rule is still the same. The key is to get an axle assembly engineered that had factory 8" or wider rims. Talk to the engineer that moot used above.

"Allowable rim width increase above the widest optional Unladen weight wheel available for the axle assembly used"

If you fit a diff that ran 8" rims then you can have 10" rims. All you have to do is fit a 9" that came from a vehicle with 8" rims. If you say your 9" came out of a dual wheel F100 then you should be fine.

We have different rules in WA so i have not done this myself.

Yea i think your right. It is time for a new Engineer.

I have an R31 diff on the back but im not sure what size rims it came out with from factory.
