Hi guys

i am currently in the process of converting my 173 LH Torana (trimatic) to a 253 with a Borg Warner T5. I know this may have been covered before, but i was told i could replace my 6 cyl Banjo diff yoke with a banjo yoke from a v8? so i bought a yoke off ebay which i was told came from a 308 diff, however when i went to fit the v8 yoke to the 6 cyl diff i found that the flange was too big to fit into the diff. i was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction as i dont really want to change the whole diff to a v8 one. here are some pictures of the yoke i was sold.

That's a V8 yolk you bought, I'm surprised it didn't fit on your 6 cyl diff pinion splines. I've swapped many yolks around from diff to diff without trouble. I guess I've just never run into your particular problem. Glad Hanra could help. (and you could have used your 6 cyl tailshaft, uni-joint and diff without any problems anyway).

Maybe it was from a salisbury "V8" diff?

Yes I believe the yoke was from a Salisbury but the person who sold it to me refused to admit that! And I couldn't use the 6 cyl shaft as the t5 was from a ford so it had a much larger slip yoke which I couldn t find one to fit the original shaft and as i would have to get it cut down anyway i decided to usethe 3 inch tail shaft that came with the gearbox and just put the v8 diff yoke on with a cross over uni. But regardless the shaft is now fitted and I can move on to saving for the exhaust system then we are on the road!
