I'm asking because I'm trying to work out the weight compared to the standard engine that was in my Triumph (for the purchase of new suspension springs) From what I've found the Triumph 2.5l 6 cylinder weighed ~185kg, I was expecting the 202 would weigh more? It's definitely physically a lot larger in height and length.

Myself and another guy lifted a complete 202 (inlet, exhaust the works) with a trimatic bolted on the back into the back of my ute...

There are quite a few variables eg flywheel, headers, starter, fluids etc.
Some other weights.
LS2 auto dressed 443 lbs/201 kg
LS1 auto dressed 458 lbs/208 kg
308 dry 495 lbs/225 kg
SBC Steel and alloy heads 500 lbs/227 kg
LT1 auto dressed 564 lbs/256 kg
SBC Steel 575 lbs/261 kg
Dressed weight includes the intake manifolds, exhaust manifolds, all necessary belts including accessory belts, and fluids. Note that the weights quoted for automatic are lighter dues to the difference between the weight of a flex plate verses a flywheel. The transmission is not included.
I think double_d's figure would be in the ballpark.
I have a crane scale if anyone in Perth has a engine laying around to weigh.

A 202 with trmatic is 200 kg....I can lift a trimatic...so its about 40 or 50 kg.....making it 150-160 kg....did you try the search button?
I most certainly did. (The search function seems next to useless and gave no hits when searching in the engine section for "weight" or "weigh".) Google gave on hit on this forum (which wasn't much help) and no other sites seem to have weight figures either.
So, yes, you could say I have done just a little bit of searching before posting the question.
