You'll eventually find out and put all the pieces of the puzzle together, its good when things finally pan out, just dont stress and it'll happen. Its a small world.

Thats where Tony got it from, so I doubt you would be able to find out who traded it to Barry Thompson, if he is still alive? But the guy sold more 2nd hand torana's in a year then ebay has in the last 10 years.

I'm not sure how to get hold of one of these.Try doing a electoralroll search with the names you have.
I figure it would be private information.
Thanks for the tip.

In regards to Barry Thompson's car yard I cannot find any thing with Google search or in the white and yellow pages.
Would be fair to assume he no longer operates after all this time.
Does any one remember where his yard was?

I guess there's no where to go with this then.
I wonder what has become of him...

l was told by the previous owner that he thought it was some sort of Performance Engine mob and that there were a couple more cars in the Qld club that had the same sticker. Maybe my car made it way through the yard too at some point, l havent really looked into the early history of my car but it was sold new in Sydney
Good luck on the hunt.

You think of the rarest colour combo A9X, L34, XU1 and they have all been thru that yard. If you wanted a performance car you went to Parramatta rd and there they would be in his yard.

That's a great help Mondie. Do you mind if I copy that pic and start another thread on him?Look what sticker is in the back window of my A9X.
I wouldn't mind finding out what happened to him.

I can't pin point when Tony bought it either. Only guessing but it would be 1987/88 when he sold it.
Not much help I'm afraid. Could you see if Barry Thompson Performance Specialists had any adds in there for me?

Googled John Thompson and have found John Thompson Prestige Gordon. Rang them as well but they have not heard of Barry Thompson.
I appreciate you looking for me lx5008, well done.

I am still trying to locate Barry Thompson at the moment.
Apparently he moved to Queensland and did the Celica Sunchaser conversions for a while.

I have been able to locate and have spoken to Barry from
Barry Thompson Performance Specialists.
He has not kept any details of cars he sold unfortunately.
He operates from Queensland now. I didn't pry too much but it sounds like he is still in the vehicle industry.
The first owner of this car used to be following the show car circuit apparently. I say apparently because I am only going on what Tony the second owner has told me.
Its a lead I am currently chasing up.
Is there any one here who may remember a Flamenco Red /Chamois interior A9X sedan that was doing car shows in the early 80's ?
I know it was in Summernats but that's a different owner / era.

It is from the era that Roy bought the car and he says it could be the receipt for the deposit.
All I have to do is decipher the signature.
It looks to me like J Barringh--
Could it be Barringham?
That's all I can find in the white pages that is close.
Any suggestions?
