Almost swapped the same car for a pair of E-type Jags.
I regret not buying a L34 for 6K.

Pranged the GTR and looked at a white HK 327 with a white interior - still had plastic on the door trims... $2200 was the asking price but because i was still paying off the GTR and was on apprentice wages it was out of my limits
I still wonder what happened to that car
Could have also had an E 49 Bathurst for $2700

Bloke next door offered me his car for $300, had no rego and brakes needed attention and motor needed a good tune-up but I said "no thanks" I'll buy another Holden which ended up being a very sweet FC sedan for the same $300.
His car for $300 was an MGTD

How long ago did you sell this???
I know the photo is not that good, did it have some after market rear spoiler fitted to it?

The car was featured in about 1982 in Street Machine,it was awesome.
For sale outside the Summernats in about 1985 for $10,000....which was a heap of money for a Munro back then.
I wish Id sold a kidney to grab it though.

Bloke in Highfields got it off me in 03 or 04, mate. And yeah it had an aftermarket spoiler, not the factory SS one. Plates were WPS-461.
I also told him to give me first notice if he decided to sell it (which he failed to do), as I knew him for a while and he never keeps cars long. He owned 3 or 4 Toranas inside a year.

But I regret not buying a GMP&A hatch - legally registered and built to A9X specs with a very very healthy motor - $15k in 1997. Bought a HSV VN wagon instead :(

I've heard the story heaps of times this engine was to full group C specs, it's just not true. It did have work done to it, and it's healthy, but certainly not a group C engineBlack A9X from Tassy.jpg 811.52K 5 downloads

^^ a bit off topic, but I love those wheels. What sort of wheels are they? And that's a bloody nice car too nonetheless.

A mate owns it here in Sydney, it's been on the dyno since he had it and the engine builder who did Fred Gieslers engines has looked at it and it's not a group C engine.
More proof you can't believe everything you read.
