When i was into the early Monaros i remember ringing this guy up about a Monaro and he claimed it was the 69 winning HT GTS 350.It was resprayed a different colour and had a twin headlight front end so i wasnt interested.
Im sure he had the proof as i can vaugley remember asking if he had documents and whatever to show it was indeed the 69 car and he assured me it was and it had the paperwork but dont quote me,it was too long ago but if it did indeed check out,it wouldve been a great find.

Another one i really regret was an Indy Orange with Indy Orange interior,HG GTS 308 for $4000.

yes i know what he paid and sold it for and it was around 500% profit

I wouldn't have sold it for any amount. Rather sell a kidney, lung or children.

That car will always be the King of all Torana's.

Smashed the field by Six laps and lap record. Doesn't get better than that.

In about 99 in the Telegraph in Sydney:
Group C L34, ex-Brian Callaghan, complete running and spares. $4000

Didn't have the money having finished uni the previous December.
Informed Brian who was looking for his old cars. He also was funds low (converting a Ghibli I think) but his details got passed onto the new owner.

Wish I could have afforded it at the time.
Wonder who has it atm?

Grant..

Two actually, my 1973 Mustard LJ GTR, I bought the car from the original owner, it was a lovley car totally original. All I did was throw in a hot 202 and place some Sprintmasters on the car. I think I threw away the dealer optioned Jelly Beans ot came with as I thought those wheels were only made for Trailers..;-)
I understand it's still around, SA rego RMH 881

The other was my 1976 SS Hatch which was an awsome ride back in it's day, I purchased the car less motor and trans from a guy called Paul Edwards here in Adelaide. He had spent considerable money on totally rebuilding the car, it was fitted with many NOS parts and panels which could be easily found in 1990.
I fitted a 427 Big Block into the car and was planning on racing it here at AIR, you guys know the deal, settled down bought a house and got married........The car still survives today but the owner is unwilling to sell. She is just collecting dust in his garage.

"Cheers"

Alf

When i was 17 a long time ago my best mates brother was selling his hk327, warrik yellow ,14x7 hustlers sold for $1800
My parents would not let me buy as they had heard stories about it ,so instead i took my only walk to the dark side a GT Capri.V6
Cost $500 more but was lured into a new v8 Lh 12 mths later. We all make mistakes but some keep making them.I always wonder what would have happened if i had bought the HK

I had a SLR 5000 painted up in the Malbro race colours. Sold it 17yrs ago for $11,000 to help buy a house. I've always regreted selling that car.
