So, sorry for the lack of updates, but I did end up finishing this car (well it's not quiet finished yet, but it's nearly there). After 41/2 years off the road, I put in a 2 month thrash to get it ready for my wedding. After many late nights and heaps of hard work, I got it there. I was even able to drive it in, which felt pretty good. I ended up deciding on mint julep which I think suits the car perfectly. The motor is running really good and sounds pretty damn angry for what is a pretty mild cam. So, anyway here are some pics I took tonight to send off to my insurance compan for evaluation purposes.

You'll have to excuse the interior as it's not quiet finished yet and it really doesn't suit the car anymore but I'll sort that out soon enough.

Very nice. Only really needs some matching door trims and away you go.  Good choice of colour!

Holy moly. Mint Julep is such a sexy colour for it. Looks sensational, nice bay!

Thanks mate. The interior all matches up, but the interior doesn't suit the new colour scheme. When I get some more money, I'll be going with black long grain vinyl with slate grey inserts.

Cheers. I'm really happy with the colour choice, it looks a lot more showy than it did last time. Don't get me wrong, the blue was nice, but the green just takes the car to a whole new level. Lot of work in that engine bay as I assume you're finding out yourself (I've been looking at your hatch thread on and off).

Well done mate, she looks a million bucks!

Dyno time yet? Keen to see what power you make with those heads. What cam did you end up running again? Looking forward to seeing the car in person at some stage.

Cheers. Been a long time coming, but it's nearly there now. Got a few things to finish off before it goes on a dyno, but it will go on one at some point. It feels pretty good out of the box though. Same cam as you I think? Comp cams XR288HR. It should go close to 500hp with the bits it's got in it, but we'll see.

Yep, exact same cam! The power will be in the heads. I reckon you'll see every bit of 500HP. What size are the AFR heads and how much static compression did you end up with? If you get time, give us a full run down on the engine specs and components... it's always good to compare and see what differences all the various bits and pieces make.

Cheers.

PS. The engine bay is killer!

The heads are 195cc runner with a 65cc chamber, 2.05 and 1.6 valves, angle plug, .100" raised exhaust runner. Compression is just a whisker under 11:1.

So, full specs.

350 4 bolt block, .040 up. 0 deck
Scat 9000 series nodular iron 3.75" stroker crank
Scat 5.7" full floater rods
Keith black hypeurtectic piston 7cc valve relief
.040 head gasket
Aforementioned AFR heads
Comp cams XR288HR cam and roller lifters
Comp cams timing chain
Lunati 1.5 roller rockers
Victor junior intake
Castle auto Tri y extractors, collectors modified to 2.5"
750 street HP DP carb
MSD pro billet dizzy, 6AL, blaster coil
Magnafuel QuickStar 275 pump and reg

Turbo 350, TCE 3200 converter, 3.55 gears.

Think that's about it.

Awesome. Our combinations are fairly similar - right down to extractors, trans, stall, diff gears etc... I can't wait to see what it does with those heads :)

The single plane intake and higher comp in your combo will help with overall HP too. Keep us posted!

HQ pattern all round. 15x5.5 with 3 3/8 rear spacing, 185/65/15. Front guards are all standard, not even lipped. I havn't driven it a lot yet, but I havn't noticed any rubbing at this point. The firewall lip is cut back and seam welded as per most Toranas with 15" wheels, but that was from a previous build where someone had attacked it with a hammer, so I just neatened it up this time. Not sure if that would need to be done for the wheels I'm running this time.
