Hi all..

I managed to get some time today to do the RH drip rail on the 4 to 6 build... Was a mess as the previouse pics show.. I had to fit a new outer after sanblasting the inner and sides.. All fixed.. Just have to repair the roof bit and fit the rail... Last job on this car until its sandblasted, its going back to his house until then.... Good. More room in my shed for more jobs

Next time... Hoping my car gets back soon..

Hi all...

I managed to get some time today to finnish what I have to before the "4 to 6" goes to get sandbalsted and put on a trolley..

I finnished the outer rail on the RH side rear drip rail.. All sealed and welded back on.. Looks good..

I also had to patch a piece on the rear beaver...

Now its off to get sandblasted.. Will be nice to work on a "clean" car for a change.. .

Ive had a little bird tell me that I "might" get my car back in a week or two... I had a chat with my mate and explained that Ide like some colour on it before winter gets here... Ide like it to sit for a while after shes painted to harden up before I start the assembly... Crossing my fingers..

Hi all..

I went and seen my "baby" today...

The RH side is all done, The LH side is getting there..

I tell you what.. The pics dont do it justice.. Its sooo straight and the lines are sharp... Its beautifull.. A real credit to The old fart.. hes doing a great job.. Im happy

Hi all...

The old girl is back for me to clean up the shrink spots..

I want to sandblast and re prime.. Making sure I get inside the guard and the panels..

Looks really good.. not so rough..

You wouldnt think it was the same rust bucket I got a year ago.

Will need a skim of filler to finnish..

Im happy..

While its here.. Im going to paint strip the roof..

Then back to the panle guys house for the final touches before paint..

Got some work done on my car today..

Its been a while.. Its a good feeling to work on mine.. Keeps the motivation going..

Anyway.

I decided to paint trip the roof as Im going to re-undercoat the shrink areas so I thought I might as well..

There is some surface rust.. To be expected.. Ill lighly sand away and rust kill.. Then undercoat..

Ill sandblast the window lips while I can and POR 15 before painting the 408 on.. Ill over paint the POR 15 with undercoat.. Never rust again..

My thoughts exactly when I started to strip... Its all done now... Lots of work on this baby...

I am proud of what Ive done... Seems I have a knack for rust/panel work.

Cant wait until I can paint it..

Hi all...

I managed to sandblast the window lips and inside the front guards, ready to POR 15... Then ill undercaot with EPOTEC 408 on the second coat while still tacky.. As per POR 15 instructions.. Should work out ok.. Will stop the rust on the window lips..

Ill then sandblast the shrink spots and undercoat as well.. Then she can sit until it warms up for the colour to go on.

Im patient.

hi all..

I managed to POR 15 th window lips , the rear parcel, and inside the front guard wet area.. wont rust again.. Im just waiting for it to tack off, the 408 over the top..

While doing that Ill spray the sandblasted front guard again..

Looks like you all know what im doing this easter.. Working on cars..

Got the Epotec 408 on... Just as the sun was setting.. good timming..

A dust coat over the POR 15 as per instructions..

Now to let dry, then sandblast the roof and paint.. Then off to the panel guys for the final touches.. Getting there slowly.

Im happy with all the work so far..

Hi all..

I spent some time on my car today...

I sandblasted and primed the roof... Turned out well... All surface rust is gone and painted.. Making sure the drip rails were clean and well painted.

I also bought a new toy.. A 40amp plasma cutter.. Had a little play today.. Seems to work ok.. Just have to play with it and work it out..

I assume more amps/air the thicker the metal?

about 4 weeks till I have paint on the car. Its had to have some further TLC on the work the other guy did. there was areas where the lines were no good and this has been re done. - see photos in my last post.

I found some pics of when I first got the car and started to strip..It aint much, but you can ALL see that it was a complete running car... didnt look too bad as well... Bog city my car was...

Hi all....

Now that I have finnished the jobs I was doing.. Im now going to continue with my car..

I have cancelled all other bookings so I can concentrate on doing my own...

I have 4 to do all told.. all GTRs, not including this one.

2 are keepers and 2 are going to be for sale.

Anyway..

Ive been gathering bits and pieces to finnish the car.

I recieved the last piece of the puzzle that I purchased off a fellow forum member... The Original 2817405 dizzy.... Now the car is truley "original" ..... Plus the factory replacement dizzy as well.

I even found the a original "wrinkled" finnished glove box lid, Not a crapy painted wrinkle finnsh, a factory original.. This is a rare part.. It has a small ding.. I dont care..

Have the seat skins and door cards, ALL stainless trims x 3 sets.. Including the stainless internal trim tops..

And my grill/surround collection.. Im going to teach myself how to repair these..

2 grills are excellant, the others will need some attention...The surrounds suck, all need attention.

Plus as new- dash facias...

All I have to do is finnish the car to put these on.. Looking forward to it..

My first job, getting back into the rebuild is to redo the door to guard gaps.. I want them closer.. Ive set the standared at a "paddle pop stick" thickness.. Its roughly 2mm.... So I do have to have nice tight gaps on my own car.. Ive acheived that on the cars Ive fixed for others so I have to have the same on mine.
