that is one of the best shots ive ever seen and the fact its a genuine L34 with a old school 308 ( not vn headed ) and manual ? makes it for me ........ whats the rules i have plenty of bits to go either way efi non efi ? manual /auto? diff factory or 9inch etc ill see how it goes ill race this car in 2weeks with the current setup and try and crack a twelve ,then swap it over .

That is indeed a great pic.

Joe, you still haven't shared any details of the engine ! I'm assuming it is a stroker ?

Way back in the day when I owned my Group C A9X I think it went low 12's with a Grice Group C engine, Super T10 and 3.55 Sals.

hi andrew,

yes it is a 355 stroker red motor tri-matic 2 bolt block, harrop crank running the factory L34 heads that have been ported and polished,..
L34 h&m headers torque power single plain manifold,750 holley double pumper..cam tech custom grind solid camshaft which my engine builder Ned Sassine hercules competition engine designed which on paper shouldn't work..
factory bosch electronic dizzy,,runs on 98 pump gas...engine makes 452 hp and 450 foot pounds of torque.
i'm using a super t10 gearbox 2.64 with a steel flywheel,mcleod clutch&pressure plate,factory clutch cable and a detroit locker diff 3.89.

those who have seen the car will tell you its a fairly simple car without all the whistle and bells which is the way i liked it..
there was a temptation to run VN heads but i thought it would detract from cars era and theme and still its L34 look
its perhaps one of the nasty 355s i have ever driven in that configuration...
a lot of credit goes to my good friend and engine builder Ned as he built me a very streetable but aggressive combination and assured me it would run over 120 mile plus over the quarter mile and go 11 zero..

well lets get happening a serious big banger shootout...how good would that be i no wayne would be in it as he loves giving his L34 some a good workout..by the way ''yella'' your car looks great in unique cars and the video...

running a low 11 seconds times is a massive feat in a full bodied car manual car...i'm kinda proud of it done in my L34 and would be nice to no how many L34s or A9XS have run similar times with there 308s cars without the aid of nitrous or chev engines..

Its very easy with new tech mods to get these old engines cracking but takes a very clever engine builder to get results with old school technology but obviously Neds got the skill and the noise of old school engines at full noise is music. Conrats Joe on your driving skill too. I was lucky that Craig Walkom
did the work on my engine. The cam i used was purchased by me years ago supposedly a spare cam for the Gough Hindaugh car in 75. Craig had the cam doctored and could not see how it would work, but work it did . The power curve is like a mountain side all the way to 6800 rpm obviously a history lesson will reveal it worked in 1975 too.
