+1, follow the similar road, a progression series, first series LC era, 2nd series LJ era, 3rd series LH-LX? Keep my prior mentionings still, regarding LS2 and 6 speed.

That is true. Holden can use the chassis, do a revision of the body, make it a lot more aesthetic and functional. Have it optional to have the turbo 4 cylinder, turbo (flat?) 6 or V6, LS2 V8, with their range of manuals and autos. 4 wheel disc brakes, GM 12 bolt diff.

Power steering and AC as standard or S. Power windows and electric mirrors etc as an SL, full leather interior and trimmings with perhaps a bolt on Flare kit (doesn't need to be crazy big, just enough to let the SLR's run the 19 x 9 rims and upgraded discs with 4 spot calipers etc) and bobtail...

I honestly can see the merit in this. This would almost save Holden, as long as they leave it as a middle sized car and have it moderately priced. Say 40K for the SLR version etc all the way down to 25K for the S.

you sold me the car man! i think you should write holden an email LOL
i will buy one if they make them in v8's

cheers nick

Well if they start with the original, it should be the HB (The Brabham), the way it looks now is ugly enough to be a HB, just dont think they will go with the same awesome power of the HB 56hp. ;-)

would like to see a photo shop of it in LJ guise, I think the lines will suit it.

Paul.

I may do that. Haha. If there were enough interest from our own site, it wouldn't be a problem.

Wheels May Magazine has it with Aussie styling and badged it the A9Z!!!!

If it is like the Monaro, it will revive the interest in our old girls, so that can't be a bad thing.

i say they should spend the coin on re-making what we already have, weather its the LC/J or LH/X keep it all the same, same looks the lot with 2012 /13 driveline and they would sell like hot cakes. just my 2 cents worth :D

As awesome as that would be, they would never do it, they don't seem to like to recycle bodys which is a shame.

KNOATH for new Torana design department,

I just think if they are to go ahead with making the Torana again, try to resemble what looks like a Torana be it any model then maybey it would be a bit more popular
.......(maybey we leave out uc)

I like the way the yanks have remade the camaro to resemble the old school body styling

And a v8 option is a must

Definitely, as long as you look at it's styling cues and think, "Yeah that's definitely a Torana." I'm all for it. LS2 and 6 spd Manual please.

I think they need to look at how the rear of the roof comes down onto the body and i like the lx front on it. It looks good and has more of a muscle car look with it. So from the rear of the door back needs work..
From rear of door foward looks shit hot with lx front as per last photo. I think anyway.

Torana was a small Kingswood, as the Monaro was a two door Kingswoood.

Comodore replaced kingswood. New monaro was a two door Commodore, ie a Monaro still, That up there to me looks like a baby commy, ie a Torana.

If this conversation was taking place 40 years ago you would all be winging and crying about the "new" torana shape going from LC/LJ to LH/LX. "Its so different bla bla bla bla"

Cheers.

Call it a Gemini. Who gives a frOck if that name is resurrected.

I couldnt think of anything worse than conversing with some polo neck shirted, corduroy pantsed poonce telling me all about his cool Torana and trying to find some sort commonality between us. Our cars are not just a name, they represent an era, a culture and an identity.

I wont buy one, Ive already got a run of the mill modern Holden, its called a Commodore.
