Hey all :)

I am on the hunt for a factory radio, to suit my 77 LX sedan. I have found a couple that I believe might be the correct type, but I just want to confirm this!! I have been given a description over the phone of the first one, and apparantly it does not have the numbers 5, through to 16 on the front (can't be sure what is on there at this stage sorry), and it has got "air chief" written on the front. It has also got the "MHz" frequency logo on the front, and the little gm logo in the top corner.

To me, this doesn't sound like an LX radio, could someone please verify this? And could someone please let me know the model that this radio might be from?

I believe this pic shows the correct radio for an LX.. could someone please also verify this?

Many thanks, sorry I don't have a pic of this radio that is in question :)

That pic doesn't match either radio in my LH or my LX

Both my radios have white numbers by the way

this looks similar to the type pictured
so to answer your question both are wrong for a factory perfect resto
lh are all white as commented above

The one LX2DR that sold for $510 on ebay is correct for an LX, yellow numbers and yellow channel indicator

There were options like 11 and 13 transistors in the LH range but i don't know if they carried over to LX

The LH had all white numbers and white channel indicator

I was told that as the LX range was near release that the last of the LH and the first of the LX had white numbers with a yellow channel indicator

I don't know if its true or not but the seller was a reputable dealer in Holden parts, nevertheless I ended up buying 3 before getting the exact working one I was happy with

Thank god the price had one less zero then the one that sold above

I agree, i only paid $81.00 for mine in 2004, and that was with a perfect hatchback console escutchion plate too!
Might be time to resell? Not likely, lol
