Amazing. Must be getting excited now!

I recognised one of the cars you visited in one of your above posts and its on you tube. Turn your speakers up and listen to it!

Cheers,

That snarling beast looks like it was having a play in the carpark of Bray raceway in Ballarat...? Wonder what the ocassion was...?

Would have loved to have been there for that!

The bloke who is painting it is doing a fantastic job. Real nice bloke too, so im just slipping him 500 here, 500 there.. Its almost at blackout stage now, then ill be painting up some of the interior bits. Once the paints done itll be off to the trimmers to get a new roof lining, then the screens will go back in, then it will come home to the shed where ill put the interior back together. Ill need 4 new tyres too.

All in all its gettting closer every week though. cant wait to get it home to have some playtime in the shed!

Some black going on.

What do you guys think of the A pillars? They look a bit odd red, but thats how most people seem to do them. Or do you think they should be black?

Looks great mate. Just read your thread. The guy who fixed up the door trims did an amazing job with what he had to work with.

Yeah he did a top job. Cleaned up the original vinyl and golfball, and replaced the carpet with the extra metre I bought when i got my floor carpet. I think he made up and dyed the piping around the edge of it too as i didnt have much spare...

Well she made it home in one piece!

IMG_1908_zps450ead42.jpg

So it was out with the old and in with the somewhat newer...

Got a lot of reassembly to do now, starting with getting all the interior back in.

IMG_1922_zps8be5a96c.jpg

First thing I did was put the wheels on to make sure the offset is right and they look OK, before i get them repainted and order tyres. The little man was very enthusiastic. I think Ill have a great little helper/slave....

Car looks awesome.

Now PLEASE remove that nose cone leaning up on the wall next to it and anything hanging from the roof trusses and even anything dodgy on the shelving at the back of the shed.  It wouldn't be the first time something really unfortunate has happened to a freshly painted car.

Did I tell you that your car looks awesome?

Car porn :spoton:.

Very nice, it has come up a treat, did you fit the standard A9X flares or get the wider ones.

Thats a good idea! Thanks for the heads up. Yeah I havent done much of a hazard check around the car. I was already shittin when the 2 year old grabbed a few tools and was ready to get stuck into it. It was like slow motion as I ran after him.. "Noooooooooo....."

But he went straight to the wheel with a socket that actually fit! I was a bit impressed.

Im not sure. They were a mix of two different sets from 2 different cars that I already had....

OK time for a bit of an update.

Recently purchased a full rubber kit from betta auto rubber or whatever theyre called and the stuff was all spot on apart from the two outer door belts for the front doors. Easily fixed with about 10mm off each end though and otherwise all good so i recommend that company if ya need those bits.

Lots of fiddling around and and new seals, weather strips, bailey channels, bumps stops etc all in.

Painted up the interior bits with sienna vinyl spray i had made up at the local auto paint place and touched up the pinchweld in bits.

IMG_2487_zps10b0c37c.jpg

Then fitted the door tops, pinchweld and pillar vinyls. Sorry photos arent great but you get the idea...

IMG_2488_zps12b4422d.jpg

Then set about getting the rest of the interior in, including new carpet. Not many sienna interiors around so thought you might find it interesting to see what it looks like all back together. I reckon it looks pretty bloody good!

Cheers guys. Yep very happy with how it's all scrubbed up. Been nice just tinkerin in the shed in my spare time, slowly getting everything in place. The mandarin red with sienna is a great combo. Looks a bit posh really!

Next on the agenda is getting it running, 4 new tyres, a new headlining, front n rear screens back in and a few other fiddly bits. Maybe get the stereo back in too. All time and money...

Shame they didn't do the dash the same colour.

Like on the chamois interiors...imo, would look better than black which doesn't seem to go with anything.

(if it was my car I'd do the dash too but I don't really care so much for originality).

I too think it looks posh and really nice though Hainzy. Sure will get loads of looks at car shows...something different - which is always good :)
