Bruce do you know where i can get a replacement mirror like this?

Does anyone else. It's worn out and the wind moves it.

Drop some red loctite into the back of the mirror to stop the wind from moving it on the ball. Works like a treat on Harley's

I would check to see if there is clearance between the rocker and the post when the valve is fully open maybe a small mirror on a paddle pop stick , because you haven't really altered anything , just fixed it . is the top of the valve still flat ? If there is clearance it may have just been that the tappet was over tightened .
Maybe look for an LJ mirror they mount the same way as the one you have .

Bruce is that LJ style mounting, there's one on ebay similar but not sure if it will mount up.

You may have to drill new holes have a look at an LJ, see if it's mounted in the same spot .

LJ side mirrors aren't mounted adjacent to the 1/4 window, they are further back near the door glass division channel.

Would there be a problem if it was fitted more forward ?

Well its not an LJ door then, i wonder if the holes are LJ dimensions. That would help. I messages the seller but no reply.

Mate i JUST got the bolt out. what a pain in the ass. I replaced it but noticed there is now a crack in the lower alternator mount. And now my fuel pressure gauge is not registering any pressure. So yeah things are great haha

So i accidentally moved the dizzy a while back when i was troubleshooting the broken rocker stud. Now i chucked a timing light on and it was showing 0 deg. My dizzy was spun for 12-14deg btdc IIRC, so where should i be adjusting my timing mark? Is it X amount of notches past 8 deg?

Also sort of figured out why my brakes are spongy. Pulled the booster off looking for a missing reaction disc and found this:

Never did find out what that reaction disc looks like.

We'll I'm hoping that's it and nothing internal. Problem is my MC must be leaking and that's probably what is causing the spongy pedal.

Minor leakage past the rear seal won't necessarily make the pedal spongy. Mine was weeping past the rear seal but the brakes worked perfectly.

Could that not be a sign of air escaping? Well at least that's my theory but I'm likely to be wrong. Hrm. Is that the reaction disc you spoke of, Dave?

Did you bleed the air out when you put the new booster on ? With your mirror , you may be able to fit a new head to the old mount .

That's the front seal on the booster you can see the pushrod poking through. The reaction disc is inside the booster, located in the valve body under the end of the front pushrod.

Oh so I can't rule it out yet. Can they dislodge on their own. Maybe when the booster is physically handled?

Can I remove that seal without damaging anything to check?

When I first pulled the booster out and re fitted it the brakes were fine. It wasn't until I removed it the second time, along withy the master cylinder, brake lines and prop valve that the problem came about. Spent a long time bleeding the system on several occasions in case there is air trapped in the master but still nothing. The most confusing part is that some bleeders cause the pedal to feel really hard when pushing it.

As for the mirror I had to remove it when I fitted the stainless door strips. I have to drill new holes anyway so it doesn't matter

Cheers
