Download firefox Richo, for me it is more stable than IE anyway. Plus it has spell check which I find invaluable, especially when typing in a hurry on forums.

We all got used to calculators to make sure we didnt get ripped off in our pay packets. Spell check is the same, that is, to make sure our online messages are not misinterpreted :-)

I will try get a spell check for IE fire fox gives my PC problems, had to format befor becouse that browser

yes i was wornd a bout this forum that the people hear are like this drilling there point and not refering to anything but
Thanks Admin

I'll tell you what I have told others - probably including the person who "warned" you about the forum - this is the repository of the most extensive collection of Torana information anywhere outside of Holden. Most topics have been discussed, and much information has been amassed. By now, more than a dozen years after the forum started, anyone wanting to pop up with possibly new information needs to have their ducks in a row, as per Adam's comment below. There is no "drilling" of points if you reread the thread, the members are politely trying to assist you, albeit correcting known errors in your arguement.

Funny you say that, everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but best backed up with factual evidence.

Were you also warned that blow ins starting shit are not tolerated to long.....lots of good info here, stick around you may just learn a thing or two.

No they dont but to get to the bottom of it all, the vin vearification of them from mane office melbourn Holden will vearifie a car chassie to a engine number

GMH Head office only have the Warranty Records that have the P.S.N Number (The Little Tag)
The P.S.N does not tell the Chassis Number on the Car, only the Car tells you that, but they do have most Engines listed on there
WARRANTY RECORDS at Head Office in Port Melbourne.

Holden will only "verify" what they have on their paperwork, which isn't always correct anyway, and in the past some customer service agents were putting information on the verification letters that was dictated by those requesting the letter and does not appear on official paperwork. Without independent verification of the vehicle itself and the numbers thereon, no "verification" from Holden or the Warranty microfiche is worth the paper it is written on.
Owning a rare willow XU-1-optioned GTR is great and I'm sure everyone will enjoy seeing your resto progress.

Grant..

Admin i do understand what you are saying about this as i am not trying to point out any new information about these cars i am over that.
I suppose we are merely discussing what people now and have read over the years.
i do relies that the verification on my car is legit to what i can see of-course,but just not verified to your community witch i will not be doing till i register my car
Its obviuse to me guys on the forum are awaiting some sort of verifacation from you or other XU1 gooroos on this forum.
My verifacation is not modafied as you say the letters from GMH can be this is why i havnt tryed to post it doue to being not excepted and suspected as False.

Hi Richard

You are dead right about not yet being accepted into the GMH Torana community. However this is not necessarily a permanent hurdle. I feel sure there will have been other members who have gotten off to a shaky start but over time have become trusted forum members and have gone on to make many new friendships with a great bunch of people who all share the same passion for the Torana.

With reference to the verification of your car. You can do it in whichever order you wish, that is your choice, however, do you want to spend thousands of dollars restoring a car to find the first time you proudly open the bonnet to show off your newly finished piece of motoring history, some knowledgeable bastard comes along, picks the crap out of it and gives you 50 reasons why it is not what you claim it to be, or, what the person who sold it to you claimed it to be.

GMH usually advise on those verification letters that you should have the car verified by a reputable car club or independent expert or something to that effect.

Its real easy,as i did when i joined, supply vin number, engine number, and at some stage, have a reputable guru spend time looking over your car, which would be a very good idea before you spend a cent. There are many restamped and altered cars about.

Your monaro looks great, could you walk to your shed some time, and take some pictures for us to admire, and while your at it a quick run around the torana,we are very interested in seeing your project. You probably feel no need to do this,BUT when you get started on the project i,m sure you will have many questions,on how to reassemble your car, right down to every last nut and bolt.

So a little from you, will go a long way here for you.

Well Richo you made a ridiculous hypothetical statement, you also asked what we thought so I replied.
Ask a sensible question and I'll give a sensible reply.

You're no better than 'shagsdrag'. You come here making claims about how special your matching numbers XU1 is and expect everyone to believe you without so much as offering a shred of conclusive proof.

Bro you are not fooling any one with your false and misleading claim-es,
you no nothing of restoration Nora wright offs or salvage, you are just someone that is angry at seeing a well sort after car an Aussie classic being restored
I clearly payed for a car that was in most peoples eyes a irreparable shell.then again people do need glasses
Do more Research before you try to antagonize me with your disruptive and despairing comments.
