Hi v6 torana,
Thanks mate,I have heard that the 6 cylinder lc and ljs with big HP are a handful.
I never got the pleasure of driving mine as it didn't run when I bought it. The Sr20det I am going to run is 149kgs I hope its about the same weight as the vauxhall 1159cc that came out and doesn't change the weight distribution,I am also hoping it will handle like a go cart ...maybe.after engineering I'm aiming for roughly 400hp but that's a long time off yet :-)
Cheers Daryl

400hp is extreamly achievable, my daily is a Gti-R pulsar it makes 173kw/230hp at all 4 wheels only running 13psi with front mount and 3"system. I'd be very interested to see how this thing goes

Wow, this is pretty different alright! Got a Silvia 5spd for it and all that I take it?

Normally I'm really against L34/A9X flares on anything but what they're from, and the guard glutes too, but you seem to have gone to some decent effort to integrate the bodykit.

What kinda wheels do you plan to install, gonna have to be something nice and wide to fill those flares out!

^ +1

I usually hate flares on LC/J's, but for some reason it kinda looks really cool on the 4cyl one. I'd fill in the flutes, personally, they look kinda out of place half hidden by the flares.

Love your work though, keep it up.

Yeh a sr would go good in a torri. I had a sr20det in a Datsun 620 tray back that I built, went hard and was fun.

Stay on track with the SR20 man. There are plenty of little Torana's with V8's, its been done to death. The appeal of your project is that its different. Keep looking for the right engine but keep working on the car in the meantime. There is still plenty you can do without a power plant.

The other thing to consider is cost. If you are still going to do the SR20 later on, why stuff around with a custom fit V8 job now? It wont be a cheap excercise...........

Tony, I thought you would try push the 250 cross flow or xr6 turbo option onto the man!

The whole appeal of this thing is no weight and bulk horsepower. So now the appeal is bulk weight and no horsepower.... I think you know the answer to this one Dazzler.

Good stuff. I always thought an SR in a 4cyl LC/J would make a beaut little car. A buddy of mine has an S13 with a balls out SR20det. It makes 850 at the tyres on E85 and runs 9.0 on radials with a H-pattern manual, driven to and from the track. Awesome little motors.

What's the 'right' engine? Just find something second hand with good comp. Replace all the consumables and work on getting it in. Even if you find a shitty one just to dummy it up

I decided to go with the sr2odet because I had two rb30's and the would not fit in the engine bay of the torrie. I had to take the tappet cover off and when it was in the harmonic balancer was touching the radiator support so I decided to go with the sr20det cause its about 400mm long (and my father had a monster sr20det in a gtir ) and the engine bay is 700mm from radiator support to firewall and about the same between the sub frame rails
