Any one in perth good at panel beating that has some spare time?

I have bought all the equipment & materials to start making composite panels but panel beating is not my thing. Is there anyone that might be interested in straightening a few panels. they are reasonably good but far from perfect enough to make moulds from them.
I would like to do boot lid and bumpers to start with.

Thanks

If your just taking a mold why cant you just fill the panels with bog?

Cheers.

i'm happy to let you have some perfect guards for molds, if the mould process won't damage them.
Same for bumpers

About time someone started doing composite panels, the monlithic polyester resin E glass stuff around today does not appeal.

For a bonnet/boot you could use 200gsm biaxial carbon either side of 8mm nomex at 35kg/M^3 which would give panel weights around 1kg per m^2., maybe even a divinycell foam around 80 kg/m^3.
You can buy RHS carbon sections off the shelf and expoxy/carbon them in for mounting points.

I would vacum bag it and pre pregs give more working time along with being much nicer to use, if i was doing wet layups i would still vacum bag everything.

Moot - Is that a racing hatch? I have seen pics of a hatch like that. even the doors are carbon!!!

Bomber, yes I started filling my bootlid with bog, but that sort of stuff just isnt my thing. just seems to take ages for me to get it right.

Welby, I am no guru at this so am not sure I wouldnt damage paint on panels. Probably not going to do the bumpers for a while as i still need to make a mould and will probably do them from kevlar/carbon. I only have 40m of carbon at this stage

Barron, I have all the equipment for the vacuum infusion process. apparently polyester boils at full vacuum so I am planning on epoxy.

Sorry Viper, I am keen to get stuck into this next time I am back in Oz.
What about a whole car in september???

Excellent Thanks Moot, Many interestig things in the picture of the door skin
I wondered how the doors would be done and just assumed it would be similar to the steel sections but great to see pics

Is that bumper above carbon that is sprayed silver?

Good to see the vacuum cleaner in the background, many people with think that is why its called vacuum bagging - cos you use a vacuum cleaner ha ha ha
