True story --- Years ago I asked Les if rares would make the LC-LJ clutch pedal bearings- 6368033 for LC-LJ as they are a very different animal compared to the brake pedal bushes that were available at any Holden dealer at the time - 3798256 for 6 cylinder models . The response was not to my liking .

they are all the same Dave, in fact, going by the diagram i have two should be completely different with a tapered edge.

Cheers

i'm also machining up a new over centre spring upper bracket as the plastic one broke. if anyone has any reason why it shouldnt be metal please let me know. cheers.

Correct, the clutch pedal bushes are different to the brake pedal pivot pin bushes.
Only reason I can think they made the outer yoke for the clutch over centre assy in plastic is cheaper to produce and metal on plastic is probably quieter, metal on metal may become noisy if the lubrication dries out.

good point but without proper compression of the spring it can be a prick to put it, and although i got it in the first time, it snapped the second time trying. i guess i can get away with it being metal if its lubricated well. would be a good sale point i reckon, but probably a bit to much time that goes into it to be done on the lathe at home.

Seems to be the way of the world these days.

Measured up some NOS bushes. The brake pedal pivot shaft bushes have a wall thickness of .030" (give or take a poofteenth) and the clutch pedal bushes have a wall thickness of .050" (give or take a p.....).
Essentially the brake pivot shaft bushes should be a loose fit in the clutch pedal, not so tight that the pivot shaft won't go through. So, I'm not sure what's going on with your clutch pedal but something doesn't add up.

As you can see in the pic the clutch pedal and brake pedal pivot shaft bushes are very different, both in design and materials used.

well my kit consisted of four of the white ones pictured on the right. the diameter was all wrong for the clutch pedal and i had to trim a bit off for it to actually slide into the pedal. however the shaft would not slot through. so i have just run a lot of grease, not ideal i know.

on another note everything went back together today and apart from the clevis thing letting go a few times i finally got it working. went to start it and nothing but a click. further inspection revealed that the motor wont turn over so something must be jammed. i am going to pull the starter off, but i want to ask if the starters are the same auto and manual? very anti climactic end!!
