I'm getting a new 9 inch made & installed but need to cut out & modify my existing 21/4'' pipes over the diff. They were tight over the banjo, above the upper trailer arms.
I told the diff shop to take the pipes out just after the mufflers & I'll sort it out.
I would like to know the pros & cons with going under or over the diff & has anyone got pictures where their pipes were routed? I also have the 120 litre drop tank on my car so be good to see some solutions.

Thanks in advance,
Ando

PM me your email address and i will send you pics of my 3" pipes under the diff.

you could also dump at the end of the mufflers but obviously its not legal. mine were like that for ages and never had an issue.

I have 3.5 inch over the diff, had some floor mods to make room. Can see it in the garage section.

I want to avoid body mods except reworking the pipes. If they went under the diff, how restricted is the suspension travel?

under the diff, the only con is to have enough room for your shocks to drop without hitting the exhaust.

I had single 3" over the diff took a lot of work to get it in there but was good for 100,000km without banging or knocking on anything, if I had wanted a twin system my exhaust guy could have done it but it I wanted to be different sound was fantastic

I have 2.5 inch twin systems on the sedan and hatch, one over and one under. I prefer the over. Doesnt get in the way when you lift the car up to do work. I often have to take the under pipes off completely when doing under car stuff.

Great pics ass308. Better exhaust flow straight through that way & easy to remove when required.
Thanks for the feedback guys. Anyone with pics over the 9''?

I have mine going over the diff. The pipes exit behind the wheels as I have a large drop tank.

Mine is under in a very similar fashion to ass308 at present, my drop tank goes so far forward that there is only just enough room between the tyre and the tank, there is no way it would clear the tank going over. I have a few mm clearance to the diff/sway bar at full droop (which is heaps) and ample ground clearance.

Working on a side exit in front of the wheels which will allow the mufflers to sit in the standard location :)
