Was the clutch cover specific to V8 or is the 6 also interchangeable?

I am having a lot of trouble getting this cover to fit.... It was on the motor when I pulled everything out but I can't remember how well it fitted back then?? Appears its had some cutting done around the starter motor hole???

Does it look like a V8 cover? Why won't it fit...

Looks like a Holden v8 one from what I remember. Was pretty common to cut that bit otherwise you had to remove the starter motor to get the cover off. I seem to remember this wasn't mentioned in the workshop manual and I spent quite a while on my first clutch replacement working that out.

Thanks for chiming in guys. I've undone the gearbox to block mount bolts and slid the box back a bit. Managed to get it on this time. Just seemed like it was all incorrect before.... Cool

Yeh it's a Holden 1 coz starter on passengers side. Looks like 1 that came blank and needed to cut your own starter hole.
