hi all
can anyone give me any info on the following please?

LC05906B from the large tag, and body stamp is LC21416A
there is no little tag.

cheers phil

Hi Phil

LC05906B = Brisbane built car completed early Feb 1970
LC21416A = Adelaide built car completed late Nov 1970

Obviously if these numbers relate to the same car, they do not match.

Cheers

Bazza

Not much info other than it's a Brisbane built LJ Torana, I'm guessing made in October 1972.

Yeah mate it's october 72, thanks for the reply. So to get more information you would need the vin??
The car i have just bought has had a hit in the front and the two tags on the radiator support had been removed and i pressume are long gone now. I only have the one tage and body number left. Is there any way i can get more info on the car with what i have?

Cheers

The last 4 digits should be scribed on the back of your remaining tsg....

On a Brisbane car it will only be the last 4 digits of the body number, not the Vin, & this will be no help to you. No point removing the remaining tag.

Na mate, the profile pic is my current 4 door project but i just picked up my 2 door the other day to start next. It's pretty well rust free for an LJ just a bit bent haha (which is why the two tags have been removed i think) Also John, do you know what colour this car is? Here's a picture.

the one from forster hey, 1200 bills was a good price i think, dane was going to look at this car for me but the young fellar selling it was in melbourne for a few days,,, yeh i would agree ZODIAC BLUE and that is probly the reason the paint tag is gone, someone will only need to change that 3 into a 9 and think they have a paint tag for a gtr or xu1 82311-82911, do you know how many clowns have being court out doing this.

cheers gong

Yeah that's the one from foster mate. I thought it was a good buy. What were you thinking of using the car for? As another resto project or for parts? I am thinking about doing a fairly original styled restoration on it.

Cheers

Hi hb186s

"S" model 2 door sedan, 161 engine, Trimatic auto transmission, front wheel disc brakes and a 2.78:1 conventional differential. It was completed in Melbourne on 19/10/70 and appears to have been used internally by GMH.

The Body Identification tag (if still in place) will show the Body Number, colour and trim details.

Cheers

Hi Guys

Following a car that is currently advertised for sale.

It has no tags apparently.

Can it even have ownership transferred?

Anyway.

I have the engine number and VIN.

I'll just post the VIN in the hope it may tell you guys something.

VIN: 6J9P0100022PD0036

That's the VIN I've been given, it doesn't look right to me but I'm no expert.

Can you guys tell me anything about it?

Thanks in advance

So, is that a no? We can't tell anything from that?

The owner claims that if they send their chassis number to Holden they can get the tags remade, which suggests there is a way to know what the tags should say.

From what I've read, I don't believe that to be true.

Your right Potta, it's a load of BS.
AFAIK GMH need the Vin number for their records check and GMH do not remake Vin, Body and Compliance Tags.
PS. VIN: 6J9P0100022PD0036 looks like it might be a Police or Transport Dept issued number

Cheers Dave that's all I wanted to know.

I was pretty sure that was the case and yeah, I also thought that looked like a police number.

I'll cross that one of my list of potentials I think, unless I can get it for a bargain basement price.
