Hi Dave,
Yeah, not so concerned about the options as rare....just trying to establish if this was another ( seem to recall a previous thread) where the options dictated a non standard boot layout. If so, it just makes fake GTRs a little more difficult to detect? ( only if all the proof of factory options is available )

Gotcha Col, yeah optioning the 5.5" rims means only one spare wheel bracket fitted in production.

just looking to find the most I can about my LJ. From my research I've found that the paint is tangerine I think. And I think it's an adelaide built car since it's got the 2 numbers that end in "A".
Model: LJ82311
Body No: 90681 - A
Trim: 1816 - 58 E
Paint: 568 - 12692 (the 8 was scratched on so no idea if that was correct couldn't tell from the back either)
Eng: LD1
8B11DDL254794J
BLJ30949A (this one was barely legible, the first letter could have been an 8 or a B )
Thanks!

Hi Sam
That VIN appears on the disc as an "S" model 2 door, completed on 4 Oct 1973 and sold by dealer 377 during Nov 1973. The original engine number was CD416632. It left the factory with, a 2750cc (173cid) engine. 3 speed manual transmission, drum brakes all round and a 3.08:1 ratio conventional differential. The body colour is Tangerine with Doeskin trim.
The Chassis Number BLJ30949A appears to be right, but you can cross-check it on the ADR plate on the firewall near the wiper motor.

It only came with those 2 plates and the number on the left hand side guard.
Will I run into any problems when I eventually need to Rego it or will I just need to comply with the latest LJ model for stuff like emissions?

Hi
If the NSW procedures are the same as here in Vic - the stamped Chassis Number is what they will use. They will need to be able to read it clearly though.

Hi Leigh
Nothing further can be gained from the Chassis Number except that the car was completed in late November 1972.
PM me with your email address and I can provide a few pointers on identifying the model of the car in question.
There were a substantial number of XU-1s completed in Adelaide during that period, but not many GTRs.
Cheers

Hi all, I appologise if this is a repeat post but I can't find it s a pending post in my profile - I also have some extra information. Can anyone tell me what the following codes indicate? All I have managed to find is the paint which would be Etruscan Gold Metallic? Is that a correct colour for an LC?
VIN: 82569CL184796
Engine: CD24352 which is [2.835lt engines, high comp, 1971-1972: CD,CF
CD, 88 kilowatts, CF, 97 kilowatts - from Wikipedia]
Model: 1 C82569
Body#: 6648-A
Trim: 1831-48R
Paint: 567-13126
Many thanks in advance, Nick

Plain old 6 cyl 4 dr sedan SL trim level

Hi Nick
You have a 4 Door SL that was completed in Adelaide on 15/9/71 and sold by Mornington Motors P/L, Main St Mornington Vic the same month. It left the factory with a 173 engine, auto trans, front wheel disc brakes and a 2.78:1 ratio conventional differential. Etruscan Gold is a late 1971 colour. I can't see a 48R trim listed (maybe 48P?) but all 48 trims are Sandalwood in colour.
Do you have the Chassis Number? - it should commence with ALC.
Cheers

Thanks for the detailed info Bazza. It is a P, does the P indicate SL trim level as dattoman said?
No chassis number yet, the guy is away and not listed with VicRoads but engine number matches, it's registered and it all seems good.
