Standard gears won't go in the HV housing either, same difference in width/length

Ended up buying a JP standard replacement. I know it's not the correct one, but Im a little concerned with using an old 2nd hand item which is so critical for the engine.

Also bought some NOS oil pump mount bolts as mine are to long.

The instructions on this specifically state not to pack the pump with grease (I was gunna use vasolene) but to prime through the oil sender hole.

Dont use old second hand shit aluminium oil pump even if they have been recoed,they are rubbish.

There's nothing wrong with the original pumps and they are a rebuildable item, but like anything else it has to be done properly and a lot aren't. Use a hand pump or something to prime that will supply pressure as you can't just squirt oil into the sender hole - once primed with oil it will crank up fine, no need for messy vasolene

I can't remember the last time I purchased a new pump, I always reco the stockers.

FYI guys, NOS oil pumps are available from, Engine Parts 24 Seven Pty Ltd. PO Box 2588, Regency Park. Adelaide. P# 92061949. Bought 1 last week, $395 delivered to my door. Not cheap but correct if you need it.

not the JP ones like Brad bought they are cast iron the OE Holden ones are aluminium
