Hi all!!.................I've come across a 202 Holden red engine that I've just purchased for parts and it has a Delco Remy built in coil distributor that I'm hoping someone here has had some experience with. Its awfully "robust" and makes the little Bosch Electronic dizzy look tiny. I cant say that I have ever seen a distributor of its type fitted to a Holden Red 6 ever before. Any info on this oddity would be greatly appreciated thanks.

I can upload a few pics if anyone needs to eyeball it.

This is where I was leaning towards too....I see E-Bay sell the springs, weights etc etc. to adjust the advance curve on these for about $12 for the kit (Mr. Gasket Brand)....will come in handy on the turbo engine I reckon!!....Thanks for the link and Pics mate...appreciate it!

I've been playing around with one of these for a while now, with my 186. Standby for more info.

Hey Stinga, Did you have much trouble with trying to get your delco dissy going. Mine has been a nightmare.

I notice your coil nose is above where the wires come out of the dissy body, and not above the vac advance as directed by other members.

I can't get mine to run when the stator and reluctor teeth line up and the rotor is in line with the #1 plug terminal.

Could you please add some photos of where your reluctor and stator teeth are when your rotor is pointing to the #1 terminal.

I will be interested to see how you got your one to go, and any problems you had along the way.

Thanks, Glenn

If that is the position of the reluctor tooth in regard to pick up coil  that is supposed to be in phase with the rotor on the mark on dizzy then it needs "re-phasing".

Like oldjohnno said, the "tooth" of the reluctor  (inside cog) should line up with the outer "tooth" on the pick up coil (outside cog) while the rotor button lines up with the #1 post on the inside of dizzy cap that leads to the #1 plug lead.If they don't line up the pick up coil gets the wrong trigger point on when to send the spark.
