As Ive had my Quadrajet fully overhauled by Hume Performance, and the fact Its a new carb for this motor. Im not sure if its been left in a state that is suitable to get this motor going?

I did ask the guys at Hume to set it up to a point that will allow engine start. But not sure how to tell....?

Ive never played with these before, only S.U.'s and the odd Holley. S.U.'s can be set to a point to give you a good base line for a start point for tuning.

Any hints of tips I should check to confirm if this is indeed set up to at least get the motor to start? Things I can look for or check?

Thanks.

Also.... anyone have the correct wing nut to retain the air filter lid????

Bolt it on and fire it up
A quaddy is just about ready to run in any state of tune

Then get it to your tuner

Or buy a book

Nice one. When I rang them to pay I asked about what state of tune it would be in, the fella advised it will need the idle set and then mixtures adjusted once running?

I wont frig with anything until I have a go at starting it as is, but I think a book would be handy!

Well they don't have "your motor" in their shop, so yes, it will need fine tuning, but it will be ready to run.

A workshop manual should have all the correct factory settings in it, there are a number of things that can be set up correctly simply by measuring before even turning the key. And in your case the factory settings are likely to be what you want!
