The lower door skin turned up but needed a little more radius put into it.

Used the pan brake to bump the skin.

Cut off the lower skin, there was more rust in there then I thought.

Had to remake the corner of the door. Used the pullmax to make a joggle in one piece to replicate the original.

Wasn't happy with the bottom of the door so decided to cut the whole bottom out.

Had to remake the joggle. Got some 3/4 key steel and make some new dies for the pullmax to suit the original joggle.

just out of curiosity turbo76lx what is the law regarding engine clearances and clearances for everything else....ie....engine has to be x amount of millimetres (or centimetres is it ?) off fire wall and x amount of room between sump and k frame, exhaust has to be x amount off floor etc etc ?

its looking amazing as well mate you have unreal skills.

10mm is what I have been told which is what I use on everything, engine clearance, gearbox, exhaust, steering.

I recently did this on a HQ door with a mig, need a lot of patience to control the heat.

How did you fare with the TIG? On the pic with the spot welds it definately looks like the heat doesn't spread as far.. looks more concentrated on the spot weld itself if you know what I mean

TIG will concentrate the heat more than MIG also requires less amps, I welded this at 25 amps and used a small amount of 0.6 mig wire as filler.

Doesn't matter how well you operate the MIG, Daniel - it will never be the same as the way Glen has done this repair with the TIG. Very different processes when you apply it to a bit of sheet like this.

Beautiful job BTW.

Haven't done much on the body, been a bit hot so started working on the console.

Folded up some aluminium sheet to match into the back part of the skyline console, the aluminium will be covered with black vinyl.

Mounted in front of the shifter will be a few switches for duel fuel map, duel boost maps, data loging, AWD system controls and a few other.

On the vertical face I was going to mount a few gauges but have decided mount a 8" tablet and configure it to display a guage page run from the Link ECU,

something like this
