Rob, the flares are higher than standard because of the way I have set up the skyline suspension.

Basically I set the body to the right height I wanted which is 110mm to the bottom of the body rails, the lowest part of the car,

then fitted the skyline suspension at the skyline standard ride height into the torana.

This basically means it will look like a super low torana but will have the full suspension travel.

Stuart, dog is just working out where I need to cut next.

Still working on the flares, I had forgotten how I hate working with fibreglass.

For a bloke who hates working with glass, you sure are doing a great job.

That's gonna look awesome once it's back together and sitting that low!

While you're there I reckon you should make the front air dam "half" and the flare all one piece, it would make it harder to handle for painting etc. but worth it not to have the join IMO?

Those changes to the flares will look great with bigger wheels. Personally I'd rather have a nice tidy join (even with exposed fasteners) rather than mold the flare into the spoiler.

Doing a side project, some trimatic pans to get a break from the fibre glassing.

Wow those flanges are super thick, is this to strengthen a known weak area of the case?

The 16mm flange was more to help with the distortion from welding and to allow for a clean up cut when I machine the flange face.

Finally got the front flares to a stage that i'm happy with.

One advantage of using the cleco's to fit the flares besides the ease of fitting and removal is you can file the hole out to suit the flare in

its relaxed state when it's mounted on the panel by removing each cleco and fit each bolt one at a time.

Having a break from the flares. Was never happy with the bonnet hinges I made so cut in a pocket each side to fit VS commodore bonnet hinges.

Tried a pair of VE boot hinges which I think will work better.

Nice, are you going to reinforce them a little? The VN-VS bonnet hinges have a habit of bending if you don't load them just right and the boot hinges don't appear to be any stronger

I think the boot hinges will be ok but wont know until I mount the bonnet.

Trial fit, so far so good. Surprisingly the VE boot hinges have less side ways movement than the original torana bonnet hinges.

Nice. You can leave the bonnet on to pop the donk in and out.
