It had been stashed in a shed up in Hicksville Country Victoria on some thiefs hobby farm, it was only spotted cause a couple kids seen it and told their dad about a two door ford, The old man thought it was suss and alerted the police who informed my Neighbour his car was found....
Some times the smallest information can make a huge difference, if it feels wrong, it most likely is..

If i were your mate and its not already gone I'd check the numbers discreetly (using revscheck) to put his mind at rest if it's all clear no problem, if it's not get the Po-Po to lift their game. Of course they'll take the credit probably. Haha.

I have a genuine LJ GTR XU1 stored at my mums place which hasn't moved since 1991. I'm paranoid about it & would react the same way if someone approached me to buy it. I would be thinking how did they know it was there & i would start searching for a new location thinking that they would tell someone who would tell someone ect.. & eventually gets knocked off.

It's a hard one to call, but given they're reaction to the property owner they seem a bit dodge. I mean i wouldn't act hostile to someone allowing me to rent their property.
I commend you on having the balls to keep following this up as i and im sure anyone who has had their pride and joy stolen would want their car found.
I understand the theory of them being worried about the car getting stolen, BUT why would you keep a classic hard to find car in SOMEONE elses garage and even admit its their brothers car, that is definitely sus.
