Apparently not all of these exhaust parts will fit before the diff.

A reputable exhaust shop tells me that I can only have the bigger offset mufflers before the diff (the straight/hotdogs won't fit) if I want to maintain the minimum 100mm ground clearance. The straight sections are just 4 inches in diameter, same as the thickness of the bigger mufflers.
  • 2.5" stainless throughout
  • Pacemaker headers
  • Standard ride height
  • 9" diff
  • SIngle piece tailshaft
Anyone tried this set up before? It has to comply with the noise limits but I don't want to use the straight mufflers as the tips as it will look Shiite.

The problem you will find is where will the resonators go, you have the back seat footwells getting in the way. You would have to have the exhaust very low to clear the floor, or do some creative floor cutting for room. Mufflers and x pipe will fit fine.

I'm looking at doing something similar, if you put all those parts end to end possibly with some of the pipe tails trimmed shorter it will just fit (definitely no pipe in between). I found some 2.5" hotdogs that are only 3.5" OD and I think I can tuck them up just high enough, but then I have a two piece driveshaft which doesn't come down as low at that point too (but, mine is lowered). I'm going to square off the bottom of the driveshaft loop to make enough room for the X pipe. I'm also planning on side exits from the rear of the mufflers ;)

I have an X pipe and side exit on mine ;)

Would have been tight to get resonators in there as well, length-wise for me at least...

(when I was first setting it up, before exhaust tips obviously)

Yes but you have better roads than us, I'd clean them up just getting out of the driveway. Mine will go between the lower arms and the floor pan...

If you have the system tucked up nice and neat for as much ground clearance as you can get, there is no way you will get those resonators in there. My Hatch has a twin 2.5" with Dynomax Race Magnums and there is no spare room.

Have you considered putting the resonators at the rear beside the fuel tank?

Thanks for the comments guys

That'll be Plan B ... not sure the resonators can be tidied up to look good from the rear, 4" tips might be a little too much!
