I reckon the exhausts look fine in the open, I would just ceramic coat them for some level of weather protection ...

If using close fitting sheet metal, maybe allow for torque movement and put long slots or even mesh grill inserts in it?

It seems they'll register just about anything over there but surely you wouldn't be allowed to have an exposed white-hot turbo housing?

Plus it would suck driving at night with a massive glowing turbo right in front of you!

had a thought with your scoop to cover the turbo's. could you mod your existing scoop and buy another one to cut up and graft on some side pieces and make it a one piece scoop.

think of it as a Walkinshaw bonnet on roids.

something like this then cover the wast gates so will be only the air filters and top of intake poking out hopefully

so this is where we at made covers for pipes and wast gates.

went and had a chat with cert man this week and my bonnet is out as it turns out everything sticking out is fine its the cowl scoop its to wide with being over  400 wide im only aloud 8m  in front with no scoop im aloud 15m taken from 1/2 way up the windscreen to out in front that makes it over heigth so the fix is a standard bonnet with holes in it and this 1 for racing.

its funny not aloud scoop but am aloud my exhaust uncovered and have to have a bonnet and a hole as big as needed

But it's called "Engine protrusion sight-line" not bonnet protrusion, surely the width of the engine protrusions would be from the outside of one turbo to the other?

Meaning the width of the bonnet scoop is irreverent?

Although I wouldn't even pretend to know the laws over there, that's just how I read what you've posted.

EDIT:

Plus I wouldn't call a Torana an "Open Vehicle", the diagram clearly refers to a no-roof hot rod style body?

a street registered pro stock car! our dipshit government really need to chill the f@ck out and let us do this. just think how many less drug addicts would be around if you could do this sort of think and legally.

bonnet looks trick mate, good to see your still chipping away at this. It must be frustrating at times knowing you still have a fair way to go.

Nice work as usual mate. I know we talked about this but dumb memory...when you cut the replacement panel for the sunroof, did you cut it bigger & step the edge to sit under the lip of the sunroof hole? Is that just some tek screws holding it in place while the panel glue cures?

Tempted to do this with the HQ sunroof. What was the brand & where did you get the 2 pot panel glue? Cheers
