Thanks again to Todd, his wife, and the rest of the team and I hear his little yellow machine is taking up a place in the Museum for all to see!

Fortunately for me, his little yellow machine didn't go into the Museum yesterday....

I was very lucky and honoured to be asked to drive it back to New'y!!! :spoton: :spoton: :spoton:

I never thought that I would get to drive one of Peter Brock's Race Cars, let alone for some 6-7 hours!

Was the highlight of the weekend by far for me..

Thanks to the boys and girls of the Club for providing a great time all weekend..

Here is a pic from our stop at Denman..

we left at about 12.30 on Monday, towing the caravan with the SS, 100kph was about the limit (swayed like buggery at anything over)

Had an awesome run through, no traffic whatsoever once we got past the second set of lights on the GWH

Mick also has failed to tell all that he didn't get out of the car because he couldn't control his erection he had in his pants.
Also I have heard that on the grape vine that a certain SS Torana maybe up for sale soon to make room for a little one.

Lucky Vinyl just wipes clean hey! haha.

Lets just hope you didnt mess the carpet too! haha.

Suprisingly, for all the dirt and country road driving, plus the under-tow trip there and back, the XU-1 came out completely unscathed (theres dust in every bloody crevase... but thats it!)

Now I have posted up some pics I can now coment on my iphone because I had a shocker last night and spilt beer all over the keyboard of my laptop and as a result only some keys are working.
As said it was a great weekend plenty of Toranas and great people.
My pick for the weekend was Macka's LC seeing that car in the flesh was awsome on Saturday arvo. Also I would like to congratulate Chris on his Dads XU,mate you have done a great job and was great to meet you and your crew and hang out for the weekend. And don't forget you made a promiss to come to Torana Fest next year.
Spent all day on my XU today and other then the under side it is all spick snd span again. But as Chris said all tho we went on some gravel the out come wasn't so bad.
Carnage report for the XU was 5 small chips on the bonnet
The worst chip was on the drivers front guard.
And the bottom of the front and rear guards copped a bit in the black out area. But all in all it has came up great.
Well worth the weekend.
Cheers Dane

I think that the XU probably enjoyed it as much as you Dane,

It was great to see some "spirited" driving by you and the others over the course of the weekend..

Might have to get some "BSR" patched made...

cheers
Mick

Had a grouse 6 days all up.Met a lot of really nice people and saw 140 odd fabulous cars. The weather was great although it was very cold at night sleeping in a tent at the showgrounds.Victor bray and some others did some burnouts near the museum which meant only a tiny percentage of the whole crowd see The time that took we could have done a few parade laps and the whole crowd could have seen it. Would also have honored the bloke they name the trophy after.Really promoted the anniversery side and would have thought the 40th would have been very fitting.Todd and crew did a fantastic job.And yes,Danes sunburst is an ultra high quality car.

Hey Hey

Had great time in the car goes hard all day long & dont miss a beat , spewing that i broke the sway bay at the start of the "tarmac rally" on a bump in the road lucky we had on the pit crew overalls , we were back on the road within ten minutes with sway bar in the boot, i would of loved being up front with you madmen , but the fun was had tryin to catch ya's
joined the 125 mph club on the back roads , hit 2 galahs , covered in dust & bug guts , but would do it all again cause i f#@kin love it.
Met some great friends for life now , Toddy one of em , and what a club we have, full of great friendly people & we may even be able to soon graduate mick into the LITTLE CAR (BSR) hall of fame after the little 100/110 mph squirt !!!!!

We may have converted him HVTC hmmmm
Anyway great event 1200 klms in the best little giant killer ever made Lc/Lj shape that is.....

Thanks also to "BROCKY" as i'm sure he had a word in the lord aboves ear hole as to not let it rain over the weekend as it did 40 yrs ago (we were so lucky dry & warm) very unusual Bathurst weather........

Anyway

"Live Your Dreams" , he says ,

Well i'm sure all that attended, certainly did , a gig on the track to see all the spectators looking at us going round would of been "epic" for me but not to be this time, maybe in 10 yrs if corporate greed mentality changes..???

Love ya work Toddy

HAPPY DAYS !!!!!!!

Huddo.

Would have moved to Raymond Terrace ages ago except we can't get enough for our house here in Coota to buy one there.

2 reasons for moving

1/ The weather
2/ Great Torana Club or vice versa

"Big Thansk"

I would like to take the opportunity to personally thank a few people who helped me get home on Sunday after having some oil pump issues at Bathurst.

Dane and Huddo and the rest of gang from the Hunter Valley Torana Club for lending me an oil pump which ultimately enabled me to get home.
Adam from Broome
Garry and Steve from the QLD XU-1 Owners Club
Dave Tait (Mr XU-1)
Phil Aitken and Richard Wellard (VIC)
Fellow club members (GTR and XU-1 Owners Club NSW)

But the biggest thanks goe's to brocks72xu1 (Grant) who not only stayed back after sending his family home on their own so as he could help me get my car on the road, but he made numerous phone calls trying to source an oil pump.

If I have forgotten anyone I do apologies.

As for the event great job Todd and Lucille, a little dissapointed about not getting a parade lap, especially for those guy's that travelled from WA . I think that the crowed would have loved it.
