I hate laminated screens! Having worked with glass for nearly 30 years I prefer toughened screens. Still have one i my HJ. I had a short piece of 4x2 bounce off mine some years ago, watched it hit the middle and fly over the roof! A laminted one would have had sharp glass all through the car (it's no different to house windows) and some building supplies on the passengers seat. Yeh I know toughened shatters too, but you can pick up the remains quite easily.

And yeh, electric seal is better.

the tipper part works great, shes an old 4 speed on the column, gets sideways in 3rd on the wet grass. sounds good after cutting most of the exhaust off

You can wear a helmet for protection Danny,

The 202 Motor, single barrel still sounds OK doing 3rd in the grass.

Good luck with the Tipper. Dave I

Called it a Nissanbitchycanterbull.

cheers dave,

forgot to mention that the tipper is hard at work wood carting,

I pulled the blue motor out from the corner and put it on a stand with wheels as my plans for building a hot efi motor are starting to come together with the purchase of a vk efi rail, and with our home made injector tester ill be able to clean them up which is even better :)

Not alot has been happening, had my birthday 2 days ago so i got my p's, been working here and there to gather some coin up.. Got the seat back and it looks a million bucks, he took abit of foam out of the back rest so i sit back abit further and a mixed and matched 2 sets of springs so it isnt sagged, At 6ft 1in the old hj is abit to short for me so with the few little mods to the seat should make it alot better :), ordered the carpet, kickpanels and rear wall carpet from truefit carpets so they should be here next week or the week after, than ill take it into the exhaust place and get a 2 1/4 system made up with a flex joint, all at trade price thanks to dad :). than its blue slip and rego hopefully :)

will get some pics soon been abit slack with the camera

Danny,

Flex joint? Why? Overpriced as far as I know, and not required.

New rubber hangers are perfectly fine.

The seat looks and feels great :) will have to get the oxy and bend the gear stick up abit as it pushes on the seat fairly hard in 2nd and 4th

well ive been doing abit more to it, made up some door trims out of the same stuff as the seat. i used 12mm foam, which is abit on the thick side but the wiper arms dont rub and the arm rest pushes the foam away from the handle so it doesnt touch either, i might get some chrome buttons and put on them one day give a pillow/kenworth cab kinda look

SAM_1054_zpse03fd9c9.jpg

The arm rests are old rough ones that came with the other ute, just cleaned them and got some black vinal paint and gave them a coat

SAM_1056_zps5f67644d.jpg

SAM_1055_zps1649ca0d.jpg

got every colour the ute is in this pic ^^

gave the mirrors a polish, made a little plate up to go on the inside of the door with some speed cilps on them and some double sided tap so the mirrors arnt screwing into the door and when you need to take them off the plate doesnt fall down to the bottom of the door.

Just waiting on the carpet and might take it to town one day this week or next week to get an exhaust made up

underlay and carpets in, seatbelts and seat is bolted in, got 2 1/4 exhaust aswell, is really quiet at idle, actually cant really hear it, but the more you feed it the loud it gets :) with the added belt squeal, still a few more things to do, hopefully go for a blueslip on wednesday

was working till 11pm last night to get ready for blueslip today, hopefully will pass, still a few things need to be done but not major

Cheers Jase,

Well she passed with flying colours, even the brake test is worth bragging about aahah, only thing he said to do was swap the rear springs from left to right to try and help level it out :)
