Hi Guys,

trying to work out if I have the correct Exhaust Manifolds for my LX SS Hatchback.

Now the problem that I have is this... In the Parts Books, it states that the nubers are;
Exhaust Manifold - LH: 9930044, and
Exhaust Manifold - RH: 7436026 (Pre ADR27a), and
9934332 (ADR27a)

Now, What I have here, for the LHS is: 9930043

The thing is that I cannot find this part number in ANY Parts Catalogue from HQ through to VL.

Is this the correct one for the LX V8? Was it a misprint when they manufacturered them?

Now for the RHS. I have two different manifolds...

One has no part number cast into it. All it has is the word "Holden" on one side and a casting date of "27G7" on the inner side.

The other RHS Manifold that I have has the part number; 9941751 cast into it.. Again, I cannot find any reference to this number in any catalogues.

All I want to know is do I have an original one out of these two. I am leaning towards the first RHS one as it was on the car when I brought it.

Any help would be appreciated!!

cheers
Mick

Hi Brad

I assume that is for LH and not LX (post ADR27a)

i believe the rhs manifold on the lx has the long bolts to allow the fitment of the
block that contains the butterfly valve as per adr27a
i think the block is still available ex usa
as they were pretty much a standard gm part used by gm aust

Thanks Dave,

If anyone can ID the other rhs manifold, that would be great too.

Pre 6/76 LX do NOT have the butterfly valve.

Can't help with part numbers but one would presume the short bolt one is pre 6/76 ADR27 and the long bolt one is post 0/76 ADR27a.

Top one looks like RHS Blue motor (all).

Bottom one looks like RHS Red motor (all)

Hope that helps.

I have a RHS manifold with cast no. 7437802 with the two holes where the auto choke pipes fit into, for an LH set up, are welded. I guess that these were fitted to late LX. I have heard of the term 'butterfly valve' but I am confussed as to what it is. Does anyone have a photo of a manifold with butterfly valve set up?

The "butterfly valve" is called the Exhaust Heat Valve.

I have just found this in an old Gregory's Manual for HX-HZ V8.

Looking at the picture form the Gregory's Manual, It looks like the bottom manifold in my pic is for HX-HZ (albeit less the long bolts)...

If that is the case, it looks like the top manifold is Torana LX - ADR 27a...

can anyone else confirm this??

cheers
Mick
