Hi all have a LC that's been mini tubbed in a past life. Shock mounts, seat belt mounts and of course the seat mounts all have been altered. According to VSB 14 doc NCOP6 section LH Body and Chassis section 4.5 tubs don't need an engineers cert if the shock, seatbelt and seat mounts are not altered. Which according to the guidelines means mine will need an engineers cert.

Was thinking to keep it simple and throw on the stock banjo, brakes and 13"s to get it registered and on the road.
Was wondering what others have experienced when taking a unregistered vehicle through the Vicroads pits. Is it just a copy of a current rwc an engine / vin / chassis number check and on your way or so they go right through the car?
If its going to be a thorough check will go the whole hog and get it certified with the 9", 14" wheels and stubtech lowered spindles HQ calipers and P76 rotors etc and $2k for an engineers cert. Just means more time and money.

When the hatch was re reg after a decade plus off the road they were only interested in physically sighting the numbers on the car. They did suggest I move the monster tach to a less obtrusive position and change the steering wheel back to a padded centre as I finished up.
They didnt care less about all sorts of stuff like the holley, loudness etc. Good friendly people in my experience.

if it looks factory... it is??
if you try to get it passed, and fail, will you not then have to do the engineering dance anyway?
so no harm in trying first? (or is there more consequences?)

Vic Roads don't check anything, is the guy doing the RWC.
If he approves it, all VicRoads are checking are the numbers etc.

Ah perfect thanks guys very much appreciated, thats good to hear and what I was hoping for.
Yeah no harm in giving it a go. Will most likely take this route to get the girl on the road and registered with the least amount of pain.
