Hi All,

just wondering if anyone can help me....

I am after the measurements for the holes for the Badges on the rear of teh LX Hatch Lid.

Specifically for the single "Torana" Badge (three pins) and the "4.2LT" Badge (two pins)

any help would be greatly appreciated.

cheers
Mick

I picked up an original hatch a while ago and have the badges off it, I'll let you know when I get home in a few hours. It had a 3300 badge but pretty sure the pin spacing is the same.

Measured with my digital vernier. The pin spacing on the Torana badge is 75mm from the T to centre and 65mm from centre to A. The 3300 badge is 70mm.
The first hole for the Torana badge is in 83mm from the edge. The first hole for the 3300 is 76mm in from the edge. The height of the holes from the lower edge of the hatch is not consistent which I found strange as the lower edge is straight but for the Torana badge left to right it is 44.5 47 47. The 3300 badge from left to right is 44 43.
The Torana badge height is not consistent as the pins on the badge are not level. But the 3300 badge pins are level and looking at the badge on the hatch its possibly not exactly level but the top edge is curved so hard to tell, it maybe 1mm higher on the left side to follow the top curve but this puts it 1mm out relative to the straight bottom lip.
This hatch appears to be a spare part as its only got one layer of paint on it and under the paint is the standard Holden black undercoat the spare panels came in.

On my hatch the torana badge is all individual letters like on a LH nose cone, its a 2nd month 76 model.

I think early hatches had the individual letters and somewhere around mid 76 was the Torana badge with the 3 pins.

That info has got me started. If anyone else can confirm the hole locatios, of the badge locations, that would be great.

not worried about the "Torana" ones as mine is the later "All in One" badge. Keen to know the measurements of the 4.2 Badge though.

Hey Brett

were these measurements to the centre of the holes?

Also, I am going to to the template up for the 3300 and the 5.0lt badges as well. Can you give me the dimensions of teh 3300 badge?

Anyone out there with a 5.0lt hatch, can you give me some details about the position of the 5.0lt badge and it's dimensions?

cheers
Mick

Mick

the 4.2 badge is 7cm from the edge of the hatch lid ( measured form the end of badge)

the 4.2 badge is 3.2cm up from the bottom of hatch lid

the 4.2 badge is 3cm down form the top hatch lid

please note, my car is not original but was rebuilt as a ss replica a least 15 years ago

cheers

Thanks Tony,

and thanks for the info about it being a replica.

Measurement are close to what I got off Barry.

Would still like a couple of others to confirm..

One thing that I have noticed is that there are some differences between the original badges and the Rares ones so the measurements that I am working on are for original badges.

cheers
Mick

yes the measurements were to centre of hole. The 3300 badge is 104 by 28. when in place the bottom edge is 30 up and right edge is 59 in. the 3300 badge is an original.

Do we know when they changed from individual letters to one piece Torana badge?

Thats good as my SS is 6/76 and I dont have the original hatch and the hatch I have only has the two holes and not real keen on drilling 12 holes and trying to get them in the correct place, so it's the single torana badge for me.

Yeah, the early one is a nightmare!

I am trying to do a template for it as well so it will be easier for people.

cheers
Mick
