I think they may do but its thick gear oil and the heads have a flat mating face, they don't normally leak

Interesting to note the difference in the crappy seal I had originally fitted. This was supplied to me by a Gearbox shop who specializes in Aussie gearboxes.

The overall depth doesn't really matter but those little grooves inside the seal are supposed to help sling the oil back into the box
