What dash finish is the original.

Hey Guys,

It probably has been asked before but I did a quick search of the forum and didn't quite come up with a result I was hoping for. If anyone can provide a link or the correct info it would be very much appreciated.

I am interested in the dash finish on LH SLR Toranas. I have seen wood grain with SLR on the ash tray (which I think is correct), black with SLR or Torana on the ash tray and the silver finish with SLR on the ash tray. (I have a feeling this was LX)

If anyone could clarify this it would be appreciated.

LH SL/R 5000s got black crinkle finish dash fascias and black crash pads.

SL: Dark 'Black Walnut' timber-tone facia & SL ashtray.
SL/R: Dark 'Black Walnut' timber-tone facia & SL/R ashtray.
SL/R5000: Black 'Caribou' grain facia & SL/R ashtray.

For LX.

S: Black 'Caribou' grain facia & Torana ashtray.
SL: Lighter 'Teak' timber-tone facia & SL ashtray.
Sunbird: Lighter 'Teak' timber-tone facia & Sunbird ashtray.

I've edited the list above & added LX Sunbird. Not that a Sunbird ashtray would be of much interest, but the timber-tone panels would be good replacements if doing up an original LX SL.

Not too sure about this one , years ago I saw ( could have been on EBay ) an ashtray , Black grain with L34 enbosed on to it.
Could have been home made ??????????????

Definitely not original at all, l34 was slr 5000 with the option package in a way & it had sl/r on the ashtray still same as a9x !

Bit off topic, but why did the hatches have different centre consoles .... no reason apart from wanting them to be different?
