Well done Marty your hard work is really showing its coming up great. Sucks when you have to redo stuff like rubbing back a whole engine bay again but came up real nice!

Thanks everyone.

A very satisfying result, only problem is I can't take my eyes of it and therefore no more work is being done.  Tend to sit and stare admiring the lines and curves of these beautiful cars.

To get that better result I mixed a fresh batch of paint, wet the floor, thinned the paint more than 30% and made sure the paint went through the strainer well. Then I could use less air and get a nice wet coat down. Got up at 5.30am, the temp was 24 degrees and humidity very low at 30%.

Got the last of the seam sealer on the body today. Found two more small dents that need Skim'a La'Bog then soon will be Hi'fill.  My concern before Hi-fill is are my lines correct, hopefully have a panel beater over for advice soon.

Steve

Sucks big time, that was another 2 hours of rubbing, but worth it after seeing the result.

Just finished pressing the bushes and ball joints into the K frame. Easy if you have the right tools and someone who knows what they're doing. My engine builder finally confirmed that my block is kaput! So started hunting for a good 202. Answered an ad on Gumtree, happened to be a members engine. Great guy doing a V8 transplant in a big Torrie. I had high hopes it would be serviceable after seeing the car it came out of, very original and well maintained. Well, just pulled the head off and I think it's a virgin, no markings on pistons. No rust in water jacket either. Getting this to the engine builder tomorrow for a checkout. 6emegube.jpgahe6aze2.jpg

Hi Mike, Yeah she's looking good, engine builder was shut for Christmas so will have to wait till next year. I am very confident it's a winner.

Thanks and Merry Christmas.  Come over one day and I'll have another 6 pack for you. :-)

Thanks for that John, I wouldn't have a clue. I was told as long as there're no numbers on the top it should be original. Only thing is, this is a 78 engine. :-)

Merry Christmas

Marty

Today was the first time I felt like throwing in the towel. So much masking and sanding, great patience was required. Here are some masking tips.
Using wide tape run it around the edge of the opening then run a couple of pieces through the middle. Lay the plastic on a table and cut to bigger size. Lay it over the opening so it sticks to tape, then trim back to edge with a knife.
