Guru Dave came over on Saturday and got my Taco going in a matter of minutes.
What the problem was;
I had taco wire on the correct neg on coil, but had the points on positive and other two on neg, totally wrong but the car still ran like a charm.
Swapped it all over and taco came to life.
Thanks Dave, your a genius.
I've booked a pits inspection for Tuesday so hopefully licensed for Christmas.

Car at inspection.
He goes to organise paper work then comes back saying he can't pass the tyres. Can only have one size difference between front and back. I had 225 and 205. Aaaaahhhh
I suggest I go home and fit 225 all round and return tomorrow for final tick off.
Driving out of the carpark and 100 meters down the road the car stops!!!!!!
Surely I hadn't used 20 litres in 50ks?
Yes I had, along with all the running in etc she was dry. Funny cause the gauge said empty, didn't believe it. :-(
Scab a jerry and walk to servo and back. 10 litres in and away we go.
Next morning with 225's all round it gets the tick of approval.
Drop Torrie home! Jump in other car and drive 15ks to license centre, wait in line.
At the counter the question is asked, "do you have a receipt"? "Yes, at home"
Aaaaaaahhh
If you buy an unlicensed car you need a receipt with chassis number, your details and that it's paid in full.
Otherwise it's do a stat dec and wait three weeks for approval.......... I'll drive home.
Find receipt and drive back.
This time we have success.
Then fitted to car.
Numberplates mean expensive Torana 'S'
So a great Xmas pressie for me.
Merry Christmas all
Marty

well done Marty, where did you get the 225's so quick? are they the same as the rears and was the steering much heavier? I suppose mine will have to be the same, again well done. you didn't leave her alone to get the fuel did you?

No plans to build anything else, just a one off.
I had a spare pair of 225's on polished rims at home. Tread is a bit low, so I call them my burnout pair. :-)
I did leave the car alone, crook lock on and no fuel. Hoping that's enough protection.
Thankfully only 300mtrs to petrol station.
Just glad it never ran out in test drive, that would've been embarrassing.

Hi Marty,
Well done now let the journey begin.
I did exactly the same thing on my maiden voyage, ran the little beast out of fuel, I had to SOS my missus who arrived with fuel and Start Ya Bastard.
These little cars drink fuel like a sherman tank.
Cheers Brian

Must be the done thing, running out of fuel on the maiden voyage, I ran mine down the driveway 5 or six times, to make sure it had brakes.
the last time it stalled, still showing 1/8 th of a tank of fuel, checked every thing, all good.
Fuel gauge reading incorrect....add fuel..fire up... away we go..
I will pull it out one day and calibrate it ..
Well done Marty you deserve all the accolades.

Happy Boxing Day All.
Wanting to Box up this thread soon so I'm putting up all the other threads I started that contributed to the build. I'm sure they will be of help to some of you.
After listing them all, I realise I asked a lot of questions, some dumb, some we all learnt from!
