So a little birdy told ne last night

Hmmm.  This was top secret! Who you been talking too Gene?

Enjoy yourself there Marty. I'm sure that your car will put many genuine gtr's too shame.

Are you driving it all that way or using a truck or trailer?

Hi James,

I've borrowed a trailer and will be pulling it behind the Nissan.

I'm expecting my car to be shunned by the purists, they only like numbers which I don't have.

It's up for judging so we'll see how it goes.

Hey Marty, I'll be there on Sunday - will come by and say g'day!  :D  Jeff

Hi Jeff, that's great, hope we get a chance to meet.

Taking some slicks Marty..

Hey Maz, I will be going flat stick around the track at some stage, this is called a parade lap for XU-1's but for me its peddle to the metal and maybe hitting 60mph.  Slicks won't be necessary.

Marty

Well I'm back from the Phillip Island Nationals Meeting and it was a blast.

With a five day road trip there, five nights on the island and four days home it was a great two week adventure.

With the dramas of a brake fluid leak from the trailer master cylinder to blow over my acrylic paintwork on the way to Victoria. Lucky I had my machine polishing gear to cut it back and re-polish. Unfortunately the marks are still visible and I’ll need to rub it back with wet and dry this winter and hopefully i've got enough clear coat.
Hi-light was I got to drive the track on my birthday then watch the Historic racing. To top the day off, that evening at the award night I received silver in my category and the Leo Pruneau Award of Excellence. THEN I get back to the house and my club member mates gave me the Holden Archives book for a pressie.  Amazing birthday that I'll never forget!
Anyway, enough talk, here are some of the pics.
Cheers
Marty

Hi Marty,

Just reading some of your old threads, always a great read by the way.
Came across the one about the outrigger bushes, just curious to know which way you fitted them?
About to fit some to my LJ.Have you had any issues with them now you have put a few kays on your car.

Cheers Graham.

Hi Graham, I've had no issues with the outrigger bushes and I think which ever way you fit them it'll be OK.  I just fitted them the way my car was made and the way they look correct.  Even though 'Spack' Dave gives me shit about it.

Hi Gatti, It's a great journey, just make sure you do it to a standard you won't regret once finished.

G'day all, it's been a while and this is what's been done on the car in the last 10 months.

Since returning from Phillip Island I've rubbed back the damaged front and roof to see if I can get away without re-painting. The roof and the front guards polished up nice but the bonnet had some pin pricks so the decision to repaint it both sides was made.  Also decided to fix a few imperfections over the car and damage that occured during the restoration 5 years ago.

Thanks James.

Hi Craig, when I first fitted it, I did, but then the car sat for 4 months while I did the paint repairs and then when I drove it I couldn't tell the difference.  It needs a tune and if I dyno it I can compare the results.
