The Roller lifters fit the Little 6 lifter bores, as there is a little slop from previous solid lifter wear.

here is the same looking one:-

which makes me think, Comp Cams have removed a bit of weight from the top of the lifter in the newer 881-16 ones:-

Do you have to fit bronze bushes in the lifter bores for a solid roller and if i may ask how much is this all costing you? I'm interested in fitting a solid roller too.

regards

Hello Jon,

The lifter bores should be OK, as the solid chevy lifters are 2 thou smaller in diameter,

and the Tighes steel camshaft and solid lifter's with bridges cost $1385 delivered to WA.

Hayden suggested to have 550/650 pound springs on the valves to keep them shut at high revs,

and the use of 9/16" thick pushrods to support the train.

Other than that,

is to use the blue short motor with the red head conversion, straight cut timing gears, bronze gear on the distributor,

shave back the two side cover centre bolting bosses till the number 2 & 5 inlet/exhaust lifter bridges clear,

and if needed after blowing up a few, the use of Oldjohnno's quad conrods and matching pistons.

You obviously have a fairly nicely sorted head to make use of this cam setup?

Yes Rich,

the ports are the size of the 12 port manifold inlet ports,

and makes a performance/race engine out of a standard wornout short motor, using a mild/hot camshaft only.

The new set-up will be the wildest from 44cc to possibly 31cc chamber later to create 14:1 compression on E85:-
