VL Drag car

This is one of the reasons my SL/R isn't finished yet

Car has a COME racing all alloy 427 based on a 308 block. Backed by a 2 speed glide built by AL's and a nine inch in the rear. Fired the motor for the first time before christmas. Looks a little different know with all the Aeroflow fittings on.
Roll cage, tubs and rear end done by myself, only thing we didn't do was the paint. Running coil over set up in the rear and 90/10 shocks up front. She was a genuine BT1 turbo.

It belongs to my Cousin and he is finally opening the wallet again. Wheels and converter are on order, measuring up for the tailshaft tomorrow. Hopefully around March. I hope as i need the shed space.

wow that is nuts if you dont mind me asking whats a 427 holden worth great to see a vl drag car thats not a 6cylinder turbo

A lot, he bought the motor about 4 years ago and it was around the 27 grand mark. Had turbo in it when purchased but it only lasted a few months.

Wats he expect it to run ? For 27k i would want no less than 8 sec

Yeah i dont think it will run that unfortunately. He was young and stupid when he bought the motor. SHould run into the nines. We have a NOS kit that may help it get closer to an eight. second pass, guess we will just have to wait and see.
