No it wont fit in standard hole in the boot, i had to cut it out, width is from chassis rail to chassis rail. It wasnt exacly cheap either it probabaly cost about $800 inc welding fittings and material.

Tray looks good but is the boot sealed or are you using a different battery?

I must say theres been so many things i've viewed through your progress that have almost made me glad i didn't think i only had a few little hurdles to overcome to fit the VH41. Its an awesome conversion and its a whole lot nicer to be viewing it through someone else wallet and time! I hope that sounds how i meant it to.

Cheers,
Baz.

Hard work for sure
The boot will be sealed, why do you ask? I suppose ventilation would be a good thing for a battery but not into the cabin.

Just curious on all the legal aspects, if bott isn't sealed and battery was to be in that way would be illegal. Being in WA as long as a cars got rego and you pay rego theres no limit to mods bar being pulled up and yellow'd but on other side of this great land im sure they'll be stricter, so im just more curious on engineering/legal aspects.

That and i'm a dame sight jealous haha!

Im not 100% on the legalities on the battery tray but iv seen heaps of regoed cars with the battery in the boot. The tank will be sealed with half inch X one and half inch thick rubber Sikaflexed on then 18 bolts will clamp the tank down sandwiching the rubber against the boot floor

You'll need a battery box that vents to atmosphere or a dry cell battery as far as i know. The battery as it is will vent sulphric acid that is potentionally flammable, anyone i know that runs battery in the boot is running a marine style battery box that vents under the car.

After a month of absolute f*cking around with the exhaust manifolds i have finally confirmed the position of the turbo. Basically the collector is tack welded to the inner gaurd so this allows me to tack the rest of the bends to the exhaust flange on the head.
Posted Image
Very tight area to get the bends through without hitting anything.
One more turbo to go.
PS its only a VL turbo, will upgrade when cash allows. And the wife :<_<:

thanks mate, i want to try and lower it a little if i can so when i upgrade to a larger unit it will still fit under the bonnet, failing that i will need a scoop of some sort, probably similar to JapXu1's scoop X2

gtrboyyyyyy, I havent seen you here for a while mate.
I really want the Willwood floor mount but depends on the cash, yes very tight squeeze but doable, its been a case of trial and error, dont start me on the error lol, I had the exhaust manifold worked out, all the bits tacked together but the turbo was in a different position to where you see it now, I had them mounted too far forward which left no room for an air filter, shit a brick I was ready to give up, I was stuck.
I had explored the current position before but decided it was too tight but second look at it the other day when I was stuck I realized it wasnt as tight as I first thought so now im back to square one but a better looking square one.
Chaotic, I didnt explain properly before but the manifolds arent made up yet in its current position, I had made them previously but as explained to gtrboy they were not successful as it left no room for filters so it turned into a nightmare to be honest, and all those hours I spent had to be undone, at the moment im positioning the first elbows from the collector when Im happy with them and obviously clears the front wheel I can start making real tracks.
However it feels allot better now that iv had some experience in doing this, although I consider myself a beginner obviously I have an idea what to do.

Grrr...needs pedal rubbers to atleast be legal dude,I could be wrong tho'.

Want to do 2 set-ups,one for your lj & one for my lc if an engineer will approve it? (Seriously,pm if you're interested)

I looked at the willwood hanging pedal set-ups after a pm with dattoman sometime back, they look much nicer just maybe a PITA when it comes to the fluid reservoirs.

LJ355, got any pics? Is this in your LJ? And are they floor mount?
gtrboy, I think you may be right about the rubber on the peddles, I still have to look into which peddles to use still, but I will post pics when I buy them unless I use an alternative by modifying the original peddles.

I forgot to add, this is my little sheet metal folder i made, it barly folded the 2mm aluminium sheet for my fuel tank. I basically quickly made it so i could fold up my fuel tank, got me out of trouble and worked well at the end.
