Thank you for your thoughts, basically what happened was the oil pan was leaking due to bad welding, Micks metal craft welded it. I was very pissed off and heart broken at the thought of coming so far only to pull it apart again. Rod Andrews in Seven Hills fixed it thankfully. Rod did a great job, he is always busy but makes time to do stuff for me, may take him a while as he has other big projects so its understandable, but you know he does it right.I was just thinking about this one the other day wondering what had happened.

So since it took several attempts to stop the leak in the sump, (its aluminum so if its not done right the first time, alum needs to be spotless, and it was full of oil, the challenge was greater than first seemed) SO CLEANING AND WELDING, CLEANING AND WELDING, LEAK TESTING OVER AND OVER. It took time. Pulling the engine out is a challenge in it self, while it was all out I thought, well I may as well use a beefier gear box, so I went for the RB25 GB and it turned out great. Previously an RB20T GB, (RB20T and RB25T have the same bell housing bolt pattern but the 25 is much fatter and taller) No regrets, I'm glad now I did that. But of course not that straight forward lol, had to weld in a larger tunnel, I had to fabricate it from 2mm cold rolled steel, (with help/advice from my Torana forum buddies) I know 2mm was too thick but the original was 1.8mm?? Roughly so that was close enough. Tunnel fab is in the "Fabrication" section.
Hang on lol, what the other 2???I was just thinking about this one the other day wondering what had happened.

I should take some pics today, its definitely not a show stopper but I think most can appreciate the mechanical and engineering side of it. Much later down the track the body will be completely stripped and straightened out and painted maybe green like on the VY SS Commodores? Or that Purple on the VY SS Commodores. Im not sure and dont really care at the moment.
Im changing the subject and gibbering away arent I, so yeah ill get the pics, its just the car is a few k's away from where I live.

Unfortunately the car isnt fully restored as the title says and it shows in these pics, but the idea half way through the build was to complete it to the point of engineering and rego and here it is all engineered and regoed. Since half way through the build we/I was told, and most of us heard the RTA will change the modification rules so i had to rap it up early. Has some primer etc on it but you get the general idea, it has potential to be a real nice looking Torana with some body work and paint which will come later.

The rims suit the car very nicely too.

Heres a little peak of the passenger side turbo, GT3071R with K&N filter and a -8 Speed flow fitting hanging down to drain the oil, the oil drains through this and sucked through by a gear type electric oil pump, into the sump, the other turbo shares the same line/pump. The pump is used for drainage as the turbo is below the line of the sump i.e. not gravity drained.

Thanks guysThats great bart good to see it back on the road how does it go ?
Yeah it goes ok, its not tuned and just discovered the Holley Blue lift pump has shit it self.
So will fix that, later get it tuned, it takes off pretty well but flattens out fairly quickly, im guessing its out of tune, its pretty much set to default atm.

Since my Holley Blue fuel pump has shit it self, i.e. not pumping after 15 mins of running/idling or revving, I would like some advice on another fuel pump. This pump is for lifting from the tank into the surge tank. The Edelbrock EFI does the rest.
So I'm looking at:
Carter, 25GPH
Carter, 100GPH
Edelbrock 120GPH
Edelbrock 160GPH
I'm thinking along the lines of Carter 100GPH or Edelbrock 120GPH both have 3/8 fittings which suits my hose ends.

Thanks LJ355 and 76lxhatch, did you have to mount it in line with the bottom of the tank? The Holley apparently has to be in line with the bottom of the tank so its not sucking upwards.ive got a carter black bart no issues at all
Yeah im thinking Carter.
