bart that looks like a ta45, its way too big to run as twins.
it would work well as a single turbo setup.

damn. need 2 turbos then,
GT3071's?
oil feed and dran lines X2
exhaust bends approx 30 pieces, fairly tight radius.

Custom cross shafts mounted 1 inch lower, you can see in the back ground the braided hose, this is the oil pickup line. Had to cut the humps off the cross member as it fould against the cross shaft, welded 2.5mm angle iron to fill the humps i cut out.
Bought 1/2 inch aluminium fuel line on the weekend, will mount that some time soon. Hope 1/2 inch is enough for 600hp+

Instead of adding all of your pictures as webpages, if you go -

[IMG]INSERT URL OF PICTURE HERE[/IMG$]

- and remove the '$', you'll get the pics up without the excess bits.

Back on topic, I really like this project.

Hey Bart,

If you are going twins i would use twin GT3071R's (if you can afford BB, or drop the 'R' for journal bearing).

For my single Turbo 1uz LJ project i am ujsing a single T51R turbo. Basically a GT45R. What you have there, i am not to sure, but looks of for a single, and to extreme for a twin setup. Any other details or p/n on the turbo, can do some diggin to get the specs for you..

Judd.

Hey RB, that gearbox is a RB20t gb, its now where near strong enough its for trial fit only, ill be using a RB25t gb, 300zx fly wheel and hd clutch. still have to make the manifolds, had to wait for the exhaust manifold gaskets, gave them to Japxu1 so he can cut out the flange plates.
I bought some steam pipe mandrel bends for Jap xu1 and he made me two 4 into 1 turbo collectors, very nice job, i strongly recomend him, and he does a reasonable price, unlike some other people who try to shaft as much cash out of you while they use your motor as bargaining power. Not mentioning any names as its a forum.
Iv given Jap my fuel tank yesterday as i gave up welding it myself, so that will be another job well done by him, will post pics asap unles Jap wants to do it??
Check out the nice work of JapXu1

Sorry mate, there has been slow progress, still making the exhaust manifolds, tacked up one side, have to buy more steam pipe from JapXu1, possibly more bends.
I am currently assembling the rest of the car, modified the gear stick hole on the trany tunnel slightly as it was about right with the previous conversion which used the RB box also.
Pretty much slapping it together now unfortunately as I want it ready for rego and engineer soon as possible
Still waiting for the fuel tank but should be complete soon, lots of little bits more than anything, need to wire up the computer also.

Hey Bart what are you using for the fuel tank?

Also how do you make bends and things in metal? Do you have a press of machine of some sort?

What clutch are you going to be using with the RB25DET box. Helping a mate do a VQ30DET conversion into an R31 Skyline and we're gonna be using the RB25DET box, flywheels getting made just need to find suitable clutch disc, pressure plates already been supplied.

The fuel tank has been cut out and bent by myself and the welding is being done by JapXu1.
The bent tube is basically short sections of pre bent tubes, which you can buy off Japxu1 also if youre in Sydney or Dapto area. You basically tack weld the tubes together and when youre happy with it you can fully weld it. The material I used is steam pipe some people use stainless but not recommended due to cracking. If you use Stainless then you should use 321 grade but shit expensive. Steam pipe are up to $10 dollars a bend depending on size and 321 is approx $50 per bend.

The clutch i think ill be using is the HD RB25t clutch, probably single plate.
Why is your mate doing the VQ he should do the VH45 conversion in a skyline, its been done in the US afew times and in Australia.

Not to sure he's already got his front cut, and as soon as he gets it up to my place i'll be stripping it down ready to prep.

Does your mate realise he can adapt a VH45 to a GTR 4WD gearbox? That would be awsome in a Skyline.

You wanted an update ay? This is the fuel tank iv been mucking around with for a while, Leigh from Extreme Turbo welded it up for me today, otherwise known as JapXu1. Nice welds, great quality. I will get more close up pics asap with the surge tank and fuel pump mounted. :spoton:

He's to dead set on this conversion to be talked out of it. Meanwhile i still have the VH41 sitting in my shed, and my skylines in getting panel and paint done at the moment, if i ever end up blowing up the RB20DET im sure i could try something. :tease: :fool:

Nice fuel tank. Does it fit in the position of the stock one?

How much did that set you back? I been looking for a "new" fuel tank for ages, fuel cells are illegal (outside fill), second handies are too expensive and old and custom is expensive $1k.
