I wonder how a Aussie V8 supercar would go against the NASCAR. Say oval vs a track with left & right turns.

Not Happy with HSV. I saw the pic of the black VF which is posted on the previous page and I like it, especially the thought that there is a possibility it 'might' have a supecharged 6.3.
Sent an email to HSV asking to be put on the mailing list for any info heading up to the release of the VF and all I get is 'we dont release info on future models'

Wouldnt you think that they would be getting interested parties contact details so they can offload them quickly once they are released.

I'd forward their email to the marketing department with a please explain...

I'd say you got a salesperson style response, rather than the marketing response which would have been "please give us your details to flood you with anything possible that will make you buy"

I really think the way some people think is amusing. Yes we all have the right to express our opinions ect but the ones I like the best are the haters who say " the front looks to much like a falcon or the rear looks to much like a Mazda / Toyota. It looks to European. The interior look to BM like. ... I mean really? Lets look at this logically. Every car made has 2 headlights 2 tail lights 4 wheels , a place where a driver sits blah blah. Well guess what unless Holden can re invent the car I guess it's going to kinda look like this and that now isn't it? These people who think its horrible because let's say the rear looks to Japanese then go out and buy a Japanese car ! Hey I thought you didn't like that back end ? Our industry is dead because WE don't support our cars and the government allows over seas cars to come in and out price our local cars. Although I love old cars I can also respect a new one and the VF is no exception. I think it's an awesome looking car. The SS rivals HSV VE's if not nicer. Good on ya Holden ! Sure going out on a high !

I reckon it looks like a cross between a camery and a falcon.

And a Camry looks like a cross between a Commodore and a Falcon, and a Falcon looks like a cross between a Commo and a Camry...

The same way that a valiant looks like a kinger x falcon, etc etc etc.

I admit that ute looks kinda cool.

Really dont think the interior speaks "muscle car" enough still. Would be ok for a caprice or something but not for a ss.

Still wont support holden untill they get there drivelines in order though.

You obviously know something I don't ? I personally have bought new HSV cars and had zero issues with any part of the driveline. I sometimes wonder if some of u old school guys have actually driven one.

Im thinking that its reference to the lack of ohc and multiple cam technology (why its needed I really don't know....)

Not everyhong is about the veeate.

I dont think its all that relevant though man,

They are getting decent power and economy out of "dinosaur" technology.

I'd gamble that the OHC v8 engines from the ford stables weigh more than the comparable output GM options

I saw designs from GM years back about double buried cam engines with more valves etc etc.

THAT would be the better way to go (rather than putting all the heavy bits up top, moving the centre of gravity etc etc)

The v6 range from holden is as modern, if not moreso than anything in a Falcon, they've just lacked the performance development that Ford seems to have had in the 6 cylinder class

Dare I say it, but I think the commodore (and the falcon) need a decent diesel engine option - that way you can have your big car and economy to boot. And for a general runaround car I think diesel engines deliver their power perfectly.
