Hi all,
Just thought id do a build up thread! its a work in progress. Will have more info with the pics asap...
HISTORY
I bought my first car 12 years back at the age of 15. It was a white, brown interier 173 auto on the tree.
It was fairly straight but had the useal spots of cancer.
I drove it around for 2 and a bit years like it, but just after my 18th bday i lost my licence for 6 months for speeding. I know right couldnt handle the 173 power!
During this time, my dad, grandpa and my self pulled it down.
We resprayed the car, re did the interior and but in a 253 V8 and 4 speed manual, twin exhaust. (did it all ourselves) Now i know it wont be to everyones, if anys, taste but at 18 i loved it!
The engine was Nothing special just a cam and bigger carby.

Fast forward a few years... Im now 27 and still enjoying the torana!
But i wanted something a bit more serious. Plus will get a respray (will stay yellow but with balck outs and flairs) and interior redone to black, plus deciding on some new wheels as we speak
The 253 and manual has come out and im currently in the middle of getting a 308 stroked to a 355 built with 9 inch diff and Turbo 300 trans.
Currnetly the engine is out and the engine nearly complete.
I will get
a run down of items asap. Just thought id upload some pics

LOOKING FORWARD TO IT BEING BUILT AND DONE FOR MALLANATS!

Cool. I like everything about the car the way you had it except for all the yellow detailing in the engine bay (booster, master cylinder, fan box, wiper motor etc...)

Other than that...cool car. Post more pics :)

Great looking Torana. I'm with Emu, I would prefer the booster and fan etc to stay black but other than that, awesome. Is that Power steering rack in the last pic for the Torry?

Defiantly need some new boots! But they have saved me so many times i cant throw them away! lol

Yer back in the day went a bit over board with the yellow. thinking of blanking out the Fan box, but will be respraying the booster etc black. Will also hide the alarm. And tidying up the battery etc

Not sure on wheels yet. Thinking either some deep dish simmons or maybe some show wheels. But the more i look around the more i change my mind! Same to flare or not to flare!!!

No the power steering isnt for the torry just a random part laying on the work shop ground

I believe is a Torque Power.

And no, the hole was always going to be cut in the bonnet just never got around to it but will have to be done now.

Have got my fingers crossed that it will fit under the scoop when the 750 holley and the K&N air cleaner go on :/

No flairs mate, keep it nice & clean, I like the rims it's got now, just go massive rubber on the rear, both hight & width, the colour suits them I think, plus I think if your going with the blackouts it'l look tuff as nails.

Nearly there....

Now trying to work out what to do exhaust wise, as my previous exhaust wont fit with the 9 inch :/

And will have to find a lower air cleaner even though i like the K&N look

Wow..that manifold and spacer are going to see the carb high up near the bonnet, what other air filter setup are you thinking of running? Camaro style cowl would look good on this car without flares. :)
