Take a deep breath and refrain from posting untill you sleep on it.

IMO car thieves should be treated like horse thieves back in the day.
String em high.

IMO the swann system is very painful to review and especially download.
Basically you need to review the footage in real time and the same for downloading. It is also very anal in regards to what size and format USB stick you use.
Look for a system that you can search and download when you set search dates and has it's own DVD recorder or is not so pedantic about what storage device you use. (ie. you can just type in a start and finish time/date and away you go, with the swann [well the ones I have used] you can only select a start time/date [also painfull] but you have to manually review till you have to stop and that sets the end date/time).

Ok cool. I was just thinking it might be handy one day as I have quite a few toys in the shed. Some one did try to get into my house one time but couldn't get past the fly wire lol

Sorry to hear, but at least on the positive side you still have it.

I was looking at gettting one of these cameras for inside my shed, probably not as good as the other $700 setup but better than nothing.

The link below might be an option as well if they get throught the roller door. They will need a decent grinder to get it out. I'm combining these with a monitered alarm system an cameras

How does one install those bollards once the slab is down? Might be worth putting the car up on car stands with wheels off hidden somewhere until you get things sorted out???????

Camera's wont stop them stealing your car, save your money and get some deadbolts mounted into your slab floor and bolt the roller door down from the inside so that it makes it harder for them to get into it. With the setup i keep my bikes in there is no way anyone can get into it short of ramming the door down or cutting through which would draw lots of attention and make lots of noise.

Core or cut a hole in your slab dig out the dirt, concrete bollards in
You could conc a sleeve in and have a bollard locked in that's easily removeable

Pressure gun and wet vac saves digging in a tiny little hole.....Kind of like those big vacuum trucks..

Probably only cost a couple of hundred to get the holes cored in the slab of ya dont know someone.

Thanx fellas, cheers Slr v8. I did have luck on my side. I now have sorted that all out, luck can have a day off next time. As I'm pretty sure they may try again, as they are stupid they have already proved that part to me.

Have to agree, cameras won't stop people and at the end of the day having someone's face on a screen won't really help catch them unless they are known to police. If you are going to bother with cameras you need one in a position to get rego of the car they are in, and most of the kits I have installed don't have the definition to pick up rego plates from a distance. If you have an alarm system in your house see if it can be expanded to use reed switches for windows and doors and motion monitors in the shed. Use a dial out system so if triggered it rings a mobile phone or security company as well as sets a blareing siren off that will draw attention to them.
Was it at night they tried to get in? It's amazing how much of a deterrent a sensor with a shitload if lights coming on can be!
Hope this helps, just seen too many people install cameras that have been useless footage when someone gets in.

I got a mate with a paddle boat that is moored down on the river bank,he was having a bit of strife with ppl coming on board so all I did was to hook up an LED spot light and a big flashing red LED to motion sensor aimed at the gang plank,we also brought an old empty camera box from a security joint,no more visitors
