STEEL BUMPER SUNDAY
Gathering together Classics, Customs, Hot Rods, Muscle Cars
& anything else built in the era where cars were fitted with steel bumpers!
Steel Bumper Sunday will be held on Sunday the 21st of April at The Manhattan Hotel from 10am - 3pm.
We are calling all hotrods, customs, euros, classics and muscle cars that were originally manufactured with steel bumpers to join us to create a fantastic day.
Heaps of cool cars, music, trade stands and more yet to be announced.
A separate parking area has been allocated for special vehicles in attendance, which don't have steel bumpers.

Hey guys, I've also come on-board with a couple of mates to help get this event up and running. We hope it will become a big annual event. Our aim is to get a huge variety of cars along to make it really interesting but with a super cruizy atmosphere.
I'll be there for sure with the Torry.... hope to see a few GMH-Torana members on the day. Let us know if you're interested!
Here's a flyer below:
Cheers,
Brett.

The Steel Bumper Sunday crew welcome aboard both Shannons and IBG Insurance as major sponsors of the show! This is awesome news.
Things are progressing nicely with the show - only 5 weeks to go now, so we'll be ramping up the promo over the next few weeks.
Please spread the word guys. If anyone wants a handful of flyers to hand out, let us know. Official flyers will be back from the printers this week.
Here's the most recent flyer:
Cheers.

I could be a chance Brett if my car is finished by then. Still needs the engine and gearbox to be installed but everything is ready, only exhaust needs to be installed after engine and gearbox fitment. When do we have to book in by or do we have to book the car at all?

Just rock up on the day mate! Simple and easy. This event is meant to be super casual and laid-back, no pre-entry or anything like that.
Good luck getting your beast up and running, it'd be great to see it there.

Should have checked my roster first but it checks out ok I am on my 2nd day off. Need to run the car in for a bit so should be a nice cruise to Ringwood from the west. New engine, gearbox and clutch so would be nice to get some k's on it before really opening it up. I'll keep you posted on progress in the coming weeks.

Hi guys,
Just had the engine bay painted a few weeks ago. Engine has been done together with the Muncie 4 speed. I have bought everything for the car, just waiting on the mechanic to install it all. It's been over 12 months so far which is getting frustrating for me. Every stage has had problems. Engine building took forever, dyno was a problem due to the engine not having right waterpump. Then bought a gearbox which needed rebuild so I got an M22 gearset for it. Then the car had to go back to the painter for a 2nd time to have it redone as the colour was a few shades darker than the car. Its just been a nightmare to be honest.
Everything is pretty much at the mechanics and ready to go just need him to give my car some priority. If I dont see some significant work done in the next week I am gonna start cracking it.
So to some up just the engine and gearbox needs to be installed. A few other bits and pieces like booster and a new exhaust system although it does have a small 1 7/8 twin system in it at the moment.
Gonna go down there tomorrow as he was supposed to be starting this week. I honestly think if he spent 3 full days on it he could be finished.

He is supposed to spend 2 full days on it this week, Wed and Thursday. It would wanna be ready for the engine and gearbox to be put together and installed into the car. He did say he is hoping to be done by the end of next week.
Worse news is my wife has told me that my father in laws birthday is the same day huhhhh.

Went down there today. He done all the linkages on the gearbox and put the new pushrods and brass guides in. The engine and gearbox are now ready to be connected and put into the car. He plans on doing this next week. Its all coming together nicely. I have been busy touching up a few bits and pieces so the engine bay will look at least finished, although I will have to buy a few chrome bits and pieces later on.
Here's a few pics of the engine and engine bay. I bought some covers for the seats which I am dropping off Sat and these should be done by end of next week.

I dropped the seats off yesterday to the guy. He rang me this afternoon to say that he was finished lol, bloody quick. He delivered them to my house tonight and they have come up nice. The back seat has a bit of a crease on the side from the when they were packaged up. He said when its a warm day here just put the seat outside in the warm weather for an hour or 2 and that will shrink it down a little and bring it up nice. Here are a couple of pics all finished up.
