Thought I'd post some pics and specs on the UC.

Specs are: 202 blue motor 40" block, blue rods, duralite pistons, 8.4:1 comp, camtech 238/248 solid cam, stock blue head with camtech springs, yella terra rockers, aussiespeed manifold, 650hp holley, custom turbo manifold, 50mm wastegate, garrett gt3582r turbo.

Saginaw 4spd with NPC clutch, stock open 3.08 ratio diff.

With this setup it ran a best of 13.0@113mph at 15psi, its now got a full manual trimatic with a 4500rpm convertor shop converter, I took the head off and gave it a mild port and opened up the chambers also dropping the comp to 7.8:1. Also added water injection and 20psi boost.

It recently blew a head gasket and bent a rod...........

Which is where its at now, getting some unleaded pistons and another set of blue rods with arp bolts.

Lots of pics

Cheers

I have run 11 second ET's in the 120Mph + zone in an LX sedan using a banjo and the fine spline axles, so I wouldn't be too worried about the diff just yet.

Well all back together now, lag seems the same even with the 6.8:1 compression. I also checked the TDC mark on the balancer and it was out 4 degrees so really when I had 28 degrees with the water injection on I only had 24 degrees. Its now got a real 24 degrees and 20psi with no water injection and no ping. Air fuels in the mid 11's. It feels the same as when the water injection was on though..... :) Also noticed the spark plugs had some very light black pepper on them, I had bp6ef plugs in it and put some br6ef's in it and there was less pepper, probably as its acted a little retarded and cooler, might try some 7's.Hopefully to the track soon.

Your engine bay looks really tidy and balanced! The stealth pipes with the black engine bay looks really cool.

Since my last post I got abit of crap in the 1mm oil feed and stuffed the rear bearing in the gt35 so I got a ebay gt45.

toranagt45004_zpsc4eb35e4.jpg

Took it to the track last night, ran [email protected]. Couldnt build any boost on the brake so pretty lazy till 2nd gear  . 30psi 25degrees timing on straight pump 98 (no water/meth). Still the 186 with 202 dished pistons, 6.1:1 compression. Ebay gt45. Still no msd lol.
Need to chop the exhaust manifold up and weld a t4 flange to it. At the moment its got a very restrictive t3 to t4 flange as I had to mount the turbo offset to the manifold, so the exhaust gases are hitting the turbine at a 45 degree angle lol. Its probably alot why even when it builds boost its still lazy (no funnel effect). Cheers

Is there anything you can do about the mixtures? It seems really rich at idle and off boost then it leans out then richens up again... At one point there it was like 14:1 on boost :S. Have you thought of going throttle body injection for a simple upgrade? Megasquirt 3's are cheap and have launch control so you can build as much boost as you want ;). What are you doing about ignition control? Thats a shittt load of boost :D.

It must have been the cool air last night, it usually go straight to 11.5:1 and sits there, usually its around 28-29psi, so maybe the extra 2psi leaned it out abit (as well as cool air). Its got 36deg timing until 8psi then back to 25deg from then on.

The mixtures really need to be attended too, some scary numbers when it's on boost & pig rich in the lower revs, as jabba has already pointed out.

It needs to be that rich at idle with a 16thou plug gap otherwise its stall and pops up the intake contantly, yeah dont worry I didnt like how lean it was yet got richer by the end of the track, 11.5 is where it usually sits on boost.
