Youngy,Howdy bloke.I'm LX HATCH76 from Adelaide,& I've just read your build project from start to finish & have to say what an awesome build.I too have a hatch that I bought for $400,still running but with a bit of rust.Mainly doors & off course C pillars. After reading about your project & others approach to it,it has enlightened me on the approach I will take.Keeping in mind like yourself, time has no part to play in it.I have a great car for a starting point & am glad to say it is driven at least six months of the year,as two cars are a bit on rego.I'll try to msend you some pics. of my old girl.In the mean time I'm not going to the Torana fest,so could you please send a few pics. of the finished dream.Cheers mate,a real inspiration to us all...

Heres some photos from Toranafest its first big trip. Engine definately freed up a little on the way home. Only dramas was the bloody hail, but no damage, a couple of water leaks and the speedo cable came off behind the dash.

Had a great day up in Newcastle and the weather was awesome.

Small update.

I have just fitted a Billet Products Short shifter and the shift feels much better, it is notiible shorter and much more positive. The gear nob sits about half an inch higher which is also better.

The car has been off the road for a week now with some issues with the front lower control arm bushes moving from front to back probaly due to the heavy duty sway bar. I have taken the them out and am getting the flat part of the bush tack welded to the lower control arm to stop them moving.

A couple of weekends ago after the Kiama car show I had a photo shoot with street machine magazine and the car will be in the February edition. I will post up some pics from the shoot soon.

Cheers Youngy
